ASSPUK , BGSJI , KFA UK and BSCPRKP support DPRK FM Press statement on the UNSC and US-south Korean military exercises,

 The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI), the Korean Friendship Association of the UK( KFA UK) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean peninsula (BSCPRKP)  issued a statement today supporting the press statement made by a spokesperson of the  Foreign Ministry(FM) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK);

The US imperialists forced the UN Security Council (UNSC)  to hold a closed meeting on Thursday 16th February. This, in the words of the DPRK FM spokesperson, " shows that the U.S. moves to turn the UNSC with heavy responsibility for the international peace and security into a tool for the U.S. illegal hostile policy toward the DPRK have gone to the extremes that can not be allowed any longer". The UNSC held a meeting about the DPRK at a time when the US imperialists and south Korean puppets are drastically increasing aggressive actions against the DPRK. This year the DPRK has not conducted any missile tests and has concentrated on economic development.

The US and south Korea plan not only not just a few military exercises but actually 20 military exercises throughout the year. This means that there will be a US -south Korean military exercise nearly every two and half weeks Today it was announced that the US and south Korean puppets will carry out a so-called  "tabletop' exercise against the DPRK.

It is deplorable, indeed, reprehensible that the UNSC met to discuss the DPRK's right to national self-defence and the issue was put on the table at the UNSC. Meanwhile, the UNSC has said nothing about the US and south Korean moves that are destabilising peace and security. Member nations of the UNSC should not turn a blind eye to the US reducing the UNSC into a policy instrument of the US, a marionette .

The DPRK warns as follows "We give a serious warning and strongly denounce the fact that the UNSC put the just right to self-defence of a sovereign state only on the table of its discussion in favour of the U.S., oblivious of its main principle for justice and impartiality."

The DPRK FM spokesperson also warned of "unprecedentedly persistent and strong counteractions' should the US and south Korea carry out military exercises.

Our organisations strongly denounce the US and south Korean military exercises . We also denounce the UNSC for holding a meeting about the DPRK's legitimate self-defensive measures. We support the just warnings of the DPRK.
