The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK),the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea(BGSJI),the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula(BSCPRKP) issued the following joint statement supporting the statement of Kim Kye Gwan, advisor of the DPRK Foreign Ministry that was issued on the 11th of January :
Recently Trump the president of the USA decided to send birthday greetings to the supreme leader of the DPRK ,respected Marshal KIM JONG UN , the chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea . The south Korean authorities foolishly decided to act as errand boys for the US even though there already exists a channel of communications between the DPRK and US . This shows that the south Korean authorities are indulging in abject grovelling to the US and are basically puppets.
The statement of Kim Gye Gwan the advisor to the DPRK Foreign Ministry clarifies several important issues . Firstly , that south Korea is not need and indeed unwanted in the role of a mediator . Secondly , that the DPRK will not on the basis of the birthday greetings to its supreme leader respected Marshal KIM JONG UN sent by Trump , resume dialogue with the US . The stance of the DPRK concerning dialogue is made crystal clear by the statement which says that "We have been deceived by the U.S., being caught in the dialogue with it for over one year and a half, and that was the lost time for us". In the negotiations between the DPRK and the US the DPRK made meaningful proposals to lessen tensions and create a peaceful solution to the question of DPRK-US relations but the US refused it . The statement of Kim Gye Gwan points out that "There is no need for us to be present in such talks, in which there is only unilateral pressure, and we have no desire to barter something for other thing at the talks like traders"
Reading the statement we are totally convinced that the DPRK is on the correct road . The DPRK has no illusions about the US and is not fooled by it . We believe that the DPRK will go its own way and will build a great powerful socialist country of Juche upholding the banner of self-reliance . We applaud the statement !
