U.S. Slammed for Its Attempt to Use Nuclear Weapons against DPRK

Pyongyang, October 16 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the National Peace Committee of Korea made public the following statement Thursday as regards the recent disclosure of the U.S. attempt to use nuclear weapons against the DPRK in case of contingency on the Korean Peninsula:
Former U.S. Secretary of Defense Panetta in his recent memoir confessed the fact that during his south Korean visit in October of 2011, he informed the then south Korean puppet minister of Defense of the U.S. stand to use nukes if necessary in case of contingency on the Korean Peninsula. He also opened to public the fact that when he visited south Korea in the capacity of the director of CIA in 2010 he received a report from the then commander of the U.S. forces present in south Korea that a war scenario against the DPRK included the program for using nukes.
The U.S. has staged large-scale nuclear war maneuvers including Key Resolve, Foal Eagle and Ulji Freedom Guardian in south Korea every year but it is the first time that a U.S. war boss openly declared that it would use nuclear weapons against the DPRK.
Lurking behind the opening to public of the U.S. above-said scenario at this juncture is its ulterior intention to hype the "north's nuclear issue", push forward the deployment of THAAD in south Korea under the pretext of "offer of nuclear umbrella", round off the preparations for a nuclear war against the DPRK and chill the atmosphere for north-south dialogue.
The scenario goes to clearly prove that the U.S. has described the moves for a nuclear war against the DPRK as ones for "deterring" someone's "threat" and "defensive" ones but it is nothing but a sophism to conceal its aggressive nature, and how zealously it is trying to foil the inter-Korean relations, escalate confrontation and thus ignite a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula.
The situation goes to prove how just the DPRK was when it decided to develop nukes and bolstered nuclear deterrent for self-defence to cope with the U.S. nuclear threat.
Even during the fierce Cold War among nuclear powers in the past, the U.S. dared not reveal its attempt for using nukes against the other party the way it openly posed nuclear threat to the DPRK as now.
The DPRK has never slackened vigilance against the U.S. moves for a nuclear war. It further hardened its resolution to consolidate its nuclear deterrence in every way, seeing through once again the U.S. aggressive nature in the above-said scenario.
Maniacs brandishing nuclear sticks should be beaten by nuclear sword.
We are fully ready to counter any war of aggression including a nuclear war and the U.S. reckless attempt for using nuclear weapons will meet a miserable ruin. -0-
