The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK (ASSPUK) , the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE), the UK Korean Friendship Association (UK KFA ) ,and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula (BSCPRKP) issued the following joint statement supporting the Open Letter of  the  Reunification and Agitation Department of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country (CPRC) of the DPRK:
The  Reunification and Agitation Department of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country (CPRC) issued an Open Letter to south Korean authorities concerning the aggressive military exercises against the DPRK which kicked off on the 5th of August despite the warnings of the DPRK and in flagrant violation of the inter-Korean agreements of 2018.
What the south Korean authorities are doing by their irresponsible and provocative actions is blocking the development of inter-Korean relations and reversing the trend towards the reduction of tension on the Korean peninsula .
The open letter points out that in fact even last year after the April 27th Panmunjom summit , the south Korean authorities went ahead with "2018 Max Thunder", combat drill which was aimed at making a pre-emptive .
During this year even before launching renamed military exercises , the south Korean authorities  staged a joint naval drill Pacific Vanguard together with the U.S. in the waters off Guam in May and secretly a joint infiltration exercise targeting the nuclear facilities of the DPRK together with south Korea-present U.S. forces at a U.S. military base in Uijongbu city, Kyonggi Province in June. They
also participated in the US led PSI exercises aimed at intercepting DPRK ships.
South Korea has also significantly increased military expenditure.
Worse still south Korea has imported F35A fighter planes and has staged drills with them in secret .
All this calls into question the commitment of the south Korean authorities to the inter-Korean
agreements of April and September 2018 which they signed . These agreements specifically rule one side carrying out military exercises against the other. Basically the south Korean authorities unreasonable and foolhardy actions are imperilling peace on the Korean peninsula.
We believe that the south Korean authorities should heed the content of the Open Letter of the DPRK of  Reunification and Agitation Department of the CPRC and should stop joining hands with the US in trying to stifle the DPRK .
We say that south Korea should cancel the military exercises against the DPRK !
NO TO WAR ON THE KOREAN PENINSULA.
