Leader of Single Hearted Unity - special article marking the 55th anniversary of the start of work of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL at the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea

                               

55 years ago on June 19th the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL started working at the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea . He made a really decisive contribution to Party work and also to many other fields of work  such as literature , art , the cinema and other fields as well as guiding the economy and the military thus proving himself to be a most versatile thinker , activist and leader .
   When he started working at the Party centre ,comrade KIM JONG IL declared that "Now that I am to work at the Party Central Committee, my shoulders are heavy with a sense of responsibility for the Korean revolution.
"The Party Central Committee is the General Staff of the Korean revolution and the highest leadership of the revolution which guides politics, the economy, culture, military affairs and all other sectors of the country. The future and the destiny of our country and our people depend on how the officials at the Party Central Committee work.
"As I start working at the Party Central Committee, I am more firmly determined than ever to work wholeheartedly under the sagacious leadership of Comrade Kim Il Sung for the prosperity of the country and for the freedom and happiness of the people.”
                                             

   Comrade KIM JONG IL was well known for his simplicity and modesty, also for his energetic work style . People talked about the lamp burning at Party centre for comrade KIM JONG IL would stay up all night working while others slept. Comrade KIM JONG IL became known as the reliable and capable successor to the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG the founder of Juche Korea and father of modern socialist Korea. Comrade KIM JONG IL worked hard to defend the ideology of comrade KIM IL SUNG, the Juche idea and to implement his teachings.
                                 

  It was comrade KIM JONG IL who worked to the establish the monolithic ideological system of Juche and built single-hearted unity throughout society . The DPRK is today one of the most collectivist societies on earth  based on the concept of one for all and all for one, a most profoundly collectivist concept .The DPRK is the most united society on earth ,especially when compared to the rotten ,decadent societies of the imperialist world which are divided by class and sometimes also by race as well . In the DPRK there are no antagonistic classes as exploiting systems such as feudalism and capitalism have been eliminated. The means of production are socially owned and everyone has a stake in society therefore there is no basis for social and class antagonism .Today the DPRK is well known for it single hearted unity . However this is not something that comes about automatically under socialism as the experience of past socialist countries shows . Some socialist countries in the past suffered from disturbances ,strikes and had sections of society that were hostile to socialism . In the USSR society became ideologically divided when Khruschov attacked JV Stalin in 1956. In the DPRK they were factionalists who were puppets and sycophants of the the big powers ,these factionalists tried to import modern revisionism into the DPRK and at the same time disrupt the party and society .
  Comrade KIM JONG IL always upheld the leadership and the ideology of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG throughout his tenure at the helm of the Party . Even before than whilst at  KIM IL SUNG University KIM JONG IL defended the ideas of the President KIM IL SUNG and cement the single hearted unity of society saying "Our Party must be united on the basis of the great revolutionary ideology of Comrade Kim Il Sung, its founder and leader." . Thus comrade KIM JONG IL threw his efforts into strengthening the unity of the party on the basis of uniting around the ideas of President KIM IL SUNG its founder. The question of establishing the monolithic ideological system became the order of the day . After the 15th Plenary Meeting of the Fourth Party Central Committee was held from May 4 to 8, 1967 ,comrade KIM JONG IL explained that
“The Party's monolithic ideological system is, in other words, the leader's ideological system and system of guidance. In our Party there can only be the leader 's revolutionary idea and guidance. Without them the existence of our Party is inconceivable. The revolutionary idea of the great leader is the eternal guiding ideology of our Party and revolution. Thanks to the wise guidance of the leader our people could not only victoriously fight their way across tens of thousands of ri in the bloody war against the Japanese imperialists, and defeat the US imperialist aggressors, in the three-year-long Fatherland Liberation War, but also succeed in the postwar reconstruction and socialist revolution and achieve miraculous successes in the building of socialism, to the admiration of the people throughout the world.
We must improve the education on Party policy, the revolutionary traditions and socialist patriotism of Party members and the working people. The main emphasis in the education need s to be on the establishment of the Party' s monolithic ideological system”
 The unity and oneness of ideology within the WPK was a decisive factor in strengthening leadership over the socialist revolution and socialist construction . In many countries particularly the capitalist countries the communist and worker’s parties did not ensure oneness in ideology but embarked on the road of bourgeois liberalism even go as far to allow and encourage different ideologies within the party with the result that these parties eventually collapsed.
 The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL after making profound studies decided to deepen and broaden the work of establishing the monolithic ideological system by not only basing the party on the Juche idea but by modelling the whole of society on Kimilsungism.
This concept was put forward in February 1974 in the work “ "On Some Immediate Tasks of Party Ideological Work for Modelling the Whole Society on Kimilsungism". This brought about a great upsurge in carrying on the revolution and the WPK's ideological work. This led to a great upsurge in socialist construction in all sectors .
  Comrade KIM JONG IL basically identified the single hearted unity of society as the driving force, the locomotive force in socialist society . In his seminal work "ON THE JUCHE IDEA " published in March 1982 he wrote that  ". If powerful internal political forces are to be developed, it is imperative to strengthen the party, the leading revolutionary force, and achieve the unity and solidarity of the entire population based on the worker-peasant alliance with the working class at its core. What is most important here is to rally all the people closely around the party and the leader. When the party and the people are solidly united into a single political force, they will be able to display boundless strength and emerge victorious in the revolution and construction".This made a great contribution to theories on socialist construction and is a great guideline for building socialism.
  Today Korean style socialism stands as solid as rock based on single hearted unity . A true sense of of purpose and unity prevails throughout society .This is the legacy of comrade KIM JONG IL's several decades of guiding the work of the Workers' Party of Korea which began on a bright June day back in 1964. The work of comrade KIM JONG IL is proudly carried carried forward by his reliable and illustrious successor respected Marshal  KIM JONG UN.
