Great People-Orientated leader and statesman -special article by Dr Dermot Hudson on the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of the election of respected comrade KIM JONG UN as Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK

                                                                 

On the 29th of June it will be 3 years since respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was elected by the Korean people as the Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea , in April this year was re elected to the post. The State Affairs Commission of the DPRK is the highest organ of state power in the DPRK. Marshal KIM JONG UN's election reflected not simply the trust , support and respect he has from the Korean people but the fact that he is a people's leader, a people-orientated leader who puts the people first .
  Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN right from his first days of leadership has always been a people -orientated leader .I always remember being present at the April 2012 military parade for the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG and was moved hearing the speech of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN in which he said  "It is our party’s resolute determination to let our people who are the best in the world — our people who have overcome all obstacles and ordeals to uphold the party faithfully — not tighten their belts again and enjoy the wealth and prosperity of socialism as much as they like". This made a deep impression on me as I listened to the translation , by my guide Professor Ri, in the crowd at KIM IL SUNG square .
 Since being elected as Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK on the 29th of June 2016 respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has worked hard for the people by visiting construction sites , farms , hospitals , schools , factories and other places dressed in a simple Korean style workers suit and in all weathers . Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was pictured travelling in an ordinary ,plain car .
                       

.Marshal KIM JONG UN has always been quick to criticise those who do not display a people-orientated outlook and those who are incompetent or fail in their duty to the people. For example visiting the Chongjin bag factory in July 2018 , he said that the differences in the construction of school bag factories  between provinces of the DPRK was due to " a gap in the officials' ideological attitude toward the Party policy, not difference in the economic power of provinces ".  Marshal KIM JONG UN also  said that the quality of the bags must be improved and that prices should be lowered  "qualitative and meticulous sewing to produce quality bags so that they should not get unfastened or ripped though children and pupils handle them at random.
It is necessary to further reduce the bag production cost, he said, giving an instruction to reexamine the price of school things including Mindulle notebooks and bags being supplied to pupils." He pointed out that that even though the state has more burdens, it should not give inconvenience to the people, he stressed it is needed to correct the price after listening to the view of inhabitants. When I visited the Ryugyong Kimchi Pickle factory during my stay in the  I was told how respected Marshal KIM JONG UN had visited the factory twice and  had instructed that prices of products must be set at an affordable level in order to serve the people. I was deeply impressed hearing this because in the capitalist countries prices go up and up all the time and the ruling bourgeois politicians do not care whether people can afford to live or . In the UK the price of food , public transport and housing have all reached astronomical levels but no one in authority tries to reduce them and the idea of setting prices at a level that people can actually afford is totally unheard of , in fact such as thing would be seen as going against the dogma of the free market .
  Through my visits to the DPRK I am convinced that respected Marshal KIM JONG UN is a great people -orientated leader and statesman .
