The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK (ASSPUK),the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI), the Korean Friendship Association of the UK( KFA UK) and British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification (BSCPRKP) today issued a statement supporting the White paper of the Korea Association for Human Rights Studies of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK);
The Korea Association for Human Rights Studies of the DPRK issued a White Paper on the 11th of December to mark the 75th anniversary of the World Declaration of Human Rights at the third session of the UN General Assembly on Dec. 10, 1948. The World |Declaration of Human Rights was a major landmark in humanity's struggle to realise dignity and fairness for all .It followed by a number of international conventions on different aspects of human rights.
However the US imperialists and other Western countries have gone against the World Declaration of Human Rights and have ceaselessly violated human rights . As the White Paper issued by the DPRK Korea Association for Human Rights Studies states "The dignity and rights of human being mentioned by the declaration are now ruthlessly being violated in the U.S. and other Western countries where all sorts of social evils such as gun-related crimes, racial discrimination, violent actions by police and maltreatment of women and children are rampant" . We fully concur that the US and other Western countries should be brought to book for their human rights violations .
Our organisations believe that world progressive people should thwart attempts by the US imperialists to tarnish the reputation of anti-imperialist independent countries such as the DPRK and struggle against imperialist intervention .
