Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Sends Wreath to Liberation Tower




Pyongyang, August 16 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a wreath to the Liberation Tower on August 15, the 78th anniversary of Korea's liberation.


The guards of honor of the Korean People's Army lined up before the tower.


Upon authorization, Ri Il Hwan, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, placed the wreath from the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un at the tower.


Written on the ribbons of the wreath are letters reading "We do not forget the merits of the Soviet Army martyrs".


Attending the wreath-laying ceremony were Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People's Committee, Im Chon Il, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Kim Ho Yong, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries who doubles as chairman of the DPRK-Russia Friendship Association, and officials concerned.


The participants paid tribute to the martyrs, recollecting the noble internationalist spirit and militant feats of the Red Army officers and men who unhesitatingly devoted their precious lives to the sacred cause for Korea's liberation. -0-
