The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK (ASSPUK), the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Korean Friendship Association  of  the UK  KFA UK  ), and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification in Korea (BSCPRKP)issued the following joint statement in support of the press statement of the Korea Association for Human Rights Studies of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK)  that was issued on Saturday 19th of August ;

Recently the UN Security Council (UNSC ) impudently held a so-called 'open meeting ' on the nonexistent human rights issue of the DPRK. At the meeting, all kinds of slanders and false accusations were hurled at People's Korea. Worse still so-called 'defectors ', traitors to the Juche socialist homeland were brought into the meeting by the US and allowed to make dirty and slanderous attacks on People's Korea.

Surely this is a violation of UN procedures? It is wrong anyway for the UNSC to discuss matters which are strictly in the domain of the internal affairs of a member state. Really what the US has done is turn the UNSC into yet another platform for anti-DPRK propaganda and anti-DPRK abuse as well as seek to use the UNSC to bring down the socialist system in the DPRK which is the cradle of life for the Korean people.

As the press statement of Korea Association for Human Rights Studies of the DPRK states "It is a well-known fact that "defectors from the north", praised and valued by the U.S. as "human rights fighters", are all the worst criminals, morally degenerated ones and swindlers." This is indeed very true. Such people are traitors and the lowest form of life.It should be remembered the so-called 'celebrity defector  Sin Tong Hyok admitted to lying and his account was actually ghost-written by an American author.

If the UNSC had any serious interest in the well-being of the people of the DPRK it would condemn the US threats and hostile policies towards the DPRK and also immediately tear up the sanctions that it has imposed on People's Korea for no good reason at all .

Moreover, the UNSC should instead of making false accusations against the DPRK should investigate the human rights situation of the US which is daily getting worse thanks to the anti-people policies pursued by the US ruling class.

We support the statement of the Korea Association for Human Rights Studies of the DPRK and call for the UNSC to stop acting as a puppet of the US  . However, the UNSC should not become a tool in the anti-DPRK conspiracy of the US and world imperialists.
