10th   of July Juche 109(2020)
The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI) , the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula (BSCPRKP) issued the following joint statement supporting the statement of comrade Kim Yo Jong, first vice department director of the Central Committee(CC) of the Workers Party of Korea (WPK) which addressed the issue of a DPRK-US summit :
In recent days there has been much speculation about a DPRK-US summit  and various high level US figures including President Trump himself raised the possibility a DPRK-US summit being held this year . Now comrade Kim Yo Jong first vice director of the CC of the WPK has issued a most detailed , informative and profound statement which clarifies the complex issue of the possibility of a DPRK-US summit .
Whilst the possibility of holding another DPRK-US summit this year is not ruled out ,comrade
Kim Yo Jong states that this is unlikely . Moreover she states her opinion that such a thing is undesirable from the point of view of the DPRK saying that 'What is clear, though, is that if the DPRK-U.S. summit talks is needed as someone says it would be needed by the U.S. side,'.
A DPRK -US summit would not benefit the DPRK . However it would serve the purpose of tying the DPRK up in useless and pointless negotiations . Moreover it may be used by someone to boast about how great a negotiator he is .  The US is floating the possibility of a summit in order to buy time and prevent the DPRK from taking measures to increase its strength .
Comrade Kim Yo Jong clarifies the DPRK's position towards DPRK-US negotiations pointing out that the the DPRK does not seek the lifting of sanctions or some kind of deal with the US . Instead the aim should be  "withdrawal of hostility versus resumption of DPRK-U.S. negotiations'. Moreover  as stated by comrade Kim Yo Jong  " We are fully capable of living under any sanctions, so there is no reason for us to be driven by the U.S."
It is also pointed out by the statement the DPRK realises that it not only has to deal with Trump but the whole US establishment and also any successor to Trump , thus the DPRK does not and will not see the whole issue of DPRK-US from the viewpoint of the friendly relations between the leaders of the two countries.
Recent measures taken by the US such as an extension of sanctions , the listing of the DPRK as a 'state sponsor of terrorism ' and the 'human rights campaign , all point to intense hostility towards the DPRK on the part of the US and an ambition to stifle the socialist system of the DPRK.
Our organisations feel grateful for the statement of comrade Kim Yo Jong as it usefully clarifies many issues in DPRK-US relations .
We are convinced that the DPRK can live well despite the sanctions of the US and has no  need for another summit with the US .
