London 8th of March Juche 108(2019) The Association for the Study of Songun Politics(ASSPUK) , Juche Idea Study Group of England (JISGE), the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula (BSCPRKP)issued the following joint statement denouncing the holding of joint military exercises in south Korea :
We totally condemn the holding of the so-called 'Alliance ' exercises by the US and south Korea .Really this is a form of deception as it is just a way of re-branding and repackaging the deeply discredited 'Foal Eagle' and 'Key Resolve ' exercises .These exercises although 'scaled down' are a means to rehearse the invasion of People's Korea and effect 'regime change' by force.
Such exercises are against the spirit and the letter of the DPRK-US Joint Statement of the 12th of June 2018 as well several inter-Korean declarations .In particular the September 2018 Pyongyang joint declaration very explicitly stated the acts of military hostility should be ceased .
What the holding of the exercises shows is the tricky and deceptive nature of US imperialism which talks about peace but behind the curtain of dialogue prepares for war.
We call for an immediate halt to the 'Alliance ' exercises and for their total and permanent cancellation. Peace must prevail on the Korean peninsula !
