Commentary on the historic summit between Marshal and president Donald Trump by the Swedish

The second summit between Marshal Kim Jong Un and U.S president Donald Trump in Hanoi
27-28 February was a big leap forward for the normalisation of relations between the two countries.
The road to the second summit has been long and started with Marshal Kim Jong Un’s new year
speech in 2018. In this historic speech a diplomatic hand was stretched toward to the brothers in the
south to improve relations, and to safeguard the peace and positive development on the peninsula.
The fact that the U.S took this hand is a big victory for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea
and the Hanoi summit is a continuation of Marshal Kim Jong Un’s successful political line. The U.S
has since the armistice on 27th July 1953 stubbornly refused to negotiate a peace treaty with the
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Instead of peace the U.S has focused on preserving the
military tension on the peninsula and continually made new threats toward the republic. The
purpose of this has been to erase the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and to force its people
to submission. The U.S-imperialists thought the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea would
collapse under the pressure, but instead they met a resistance they had not encountered anywhere
else.
The Songun politics, developed by the dear leader general Kim Jong Il, ensured the survival of the
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and lead to the development of the powerful nuclear
deterrent it now possess. The focus and development of a strong military deterrent has been crucial
for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s survival, which becomes clear when compared to
other countries which have not followed the U.S dictates. Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya
are clear and appalling examples on countries which have followed their own way, but not
possessed a strong enough defense. Currently the U.S infiltration and economic warfare against
Venezuela has destabilized the country which it now threatens with military invasion. These
countries has been powerless against economic warfare, infiltration and military intervention - the
situation in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is essentially different.
The unrighteous sanctions against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is affecting the
country, but the country has for decades, through the principles of the Juche philosophy of
independence in the areas of politics, economics and defense. The economic growth in the
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has been great, which all foreign visitors have seen, and
several foreign experts confirmed. Unlike Venezuela, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea
has not suffered from foreign infiltration and political fraction fueled by foreign intervention - the
unity around the Workers Party of Korea and Marshal Kim Jong Un remains just as solid as ever
before. The military might of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is stronger than ever.
The U.S. has been forced to admit that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea will not bow or
break, neither will it simply go away which only leaves room for negotiations and diplomatic
relations. The two summits between Marshal Kim Jong Un and president Donald Trump is as a
result of this and a huge diplomatic victory for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. These
meetings makes a new direction in the relations between the two countries possible and will
hopefully over-bridge the huge gap of trust that still exists.
But the latest summit also show that the U.S. is not fully prepared to let go of its previously failed
confrontational stance. Even though the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea presented serious
and reasonable proposals with mutual steps for developing trust between the countries Trump
decided to leave the negotiations. Trump claimed the U.S. did not get enough of its demands met by
the korean side. But diplomatic negotiations, deepening of trust and the development of relations is
a two-way process where both sides need to give and take. If the U.S thinks the Democratic
People’s Republic of Korea will fold after 70 years of resistance they are deeply mistaken. The
meeting between Marshal Kim Jong Un and president Donald Trump was in spite of this a huge
success. The work on improving relations continues and Marshal Kim Jong Un has won great
respect over the world during these summits. In the meantime the positive development continues in
the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the economy continues to develop despite the
illegal sanctions. Marshal Kim Jong Un’s prioritization of the economy will result in great
progress in industrial production, electrification and most of all the living standard of the people.
The huge advancement that has already been made will be followed even greater victories through
diplomatic relations, the development of trade and the development of tourism.
