Our attention was drawn to your article “ Evil Kim’s Birthday to Putin “ ,(the Sun Saturday 8th of October ) by Chris Pollard . We in the Korean Friendship Association of the UK strongly denounce this vile piece of anti-DPRK propaganda and blatant demonization by your newspaper.
It is hard to know where to start criticising the article . Throughout the article Kim Jong Un , the president of state affairs and general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea , is referred to as ‘Jong-un ‘ . Is Mr Pollard aware that Kim is actually a Korean surname and in Korean the surname comes before given names ? This is the height of ignorance by the ‘Sun ‘ or may in fact be deliberate and calculated racist denigration of Korean people by ‘The Sun ‘.
The article is full of grave slanders such as using words like ‘ Evil ‘ and ‘Despot ‘ . This is nonsense . Marshal Kim Jong Un is a true people’s leader who has the absolute trust and support of the entire Korean people who are rallied around him . Moreover Marshal Kim Jong Un is an elected leader . He works to improve the living standards of the Korean people all the time . Under his guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un 10,000 flats in Songhwa Street in Pyongyang were completed this year . People in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK) receive free health care , free education , virtually free housing, low cost public transport and taxation was abolished in 1974 . There is no inflation .
Leaders like Marshal Kim Jong Un are demonised in the Western media because they stand up for their country’s rights and defend the independence of their countries.
To call your article inaccurate , distorted and biassed would be a massive understatement . “The Sun ‘ should withdraw the article and apologise to the DPRK .
