The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has built a large-scale greenhouse vegetable farm in the Ryonpho area on its eastern coast as a base of creation of rural civilization. Covering an area of 280 hectares, the farm has over 850 hydroponic and soil greenhouses. The dwelling houses, numbering over 1 000, schools, a hall of culture and a general welfare service facility all retain the local features.
