KCNA Commentary Calls for Removal of Conservative Group of S. Korea

Pyongyang, January 18 (KCNA) -- The south Korean conservative group is taking issue with the DPRK's stand clarified in the historic New Year Address for the development of inter-Korean relations and peace and prosperity on the Korean peninsula.
The conservative opposition parties including the "Liberal Korea Party" and right-wing media and experts claim that the south "should neither start cooperation with the north nor meet the demands of the north", describing the principled stance of the DPRK as the "typical camouflaged peace offensive" and "high stratagem to sow seeds of discord".
This is a malicious act against the expectations of the whole nation and mankind that want to see the sustained current of dialogue and peace created with much effort on the Korean peninsula this year.
Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un's historic New Year Address evokes a lively response among the world people as well as the Korean people.
A lot of media continue to report the full text and gist of his New Year Address full of his firm will to safeguard peace and ardent patriotism and heads of state, political parties, organizations and personages of various circles and experts of many countries express full support for the DPRK's consistent stand for the development of the positive situation on the Korean peninsula.
In particular, his New Year Address commands the absolute support by all the fellow countrymen as it calls for turning the Korean peninsula into the true home of the nation, which is the most peaceful and will prosper forever.
Upset by this, the south Korean conservative group is speaking ill of the address in a bid to keep it from having a great impact on the public.
This is hysterics of the confrontation maniacs who are frightened by the support of the people at home and abroad for the New Year Address which is daily increasing for its impartiality and vitality, and last-ditch effort of those who are left without any justification for existence as a result of the efforts for the development of inter-Korean relations and détente on the Korean peninsula.
Last year the conservative group termed the initiative and bold steps taken by the DPRK for bringing about an epochal turning point in the relations between the north and south the "camouflaged peace offensive".
The conservative group's criminal act such as slandering the historic Panmunjom Declaration and the September Pyongyang Joint Declaration and checking their implementation added another disgraceful page to the record of its crimes.
It is well known that with such confrontation maniacs remaining left in office the north-south relations were driven into complete catastrophe and the danger of war hanged over the Korean peninsula.
Looking back on the last year, all the Koreans came to bear in mind once again that only when they decisively sweep away the conservative group that stands in the way of peace and prosperity and brings nothing good to them, can they open a broad avenue to independent reunification.
It is a disgrace to the nation that the group of criminals who were given stern judgment by history is making desperate efforts to chill the unanimous desire of Koreans for national reunification. -0-
