KIM JONG IL 'LET US ADVANCE UNDER THE BANNER OF MARXISM-LENINISM AND THE JUCHE IDEA'
The name of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL who passed away 7 years ago on the 17th of December is synonymous with global independence as his theories have inspired the fight for global independence.Throughout his life comrade KIM JONG IL made unswerving efforts for the cause of global independence under the banner of the Juche Idea.
The works of comrade KIM JONG IL such as 'ON THE JUCHE IDEA and 'LET US ADVANCE UNDER THE BANNER OF MARXISM-LENINISM AND THE JUCHE IDEA' contain important theories and lines for realising the independence of the people of the world by fighting against imperialism .In this classic immortal treatise comrade KIM JONG IL wrote that "Today, the struggle to defend the masses، independence assumes an international character. Since the forces ofimperialism which oppress independence are allied on an international scale, the struggle to oppose imperialist domination and oppression and defend independence, too, cannot but be an international undertaking. Because of the community of their historical backgrounds and interests,the formerly oppressed nations and peoples who have been subjected to colonial slavery, with their independence and sovereignty downtrodden by imperialism, are united together on the same front of struggle to oppose imperialism and defend independence. All countries, all nations, and peoples the world over that advocate independence must struggle jointly, in close unity under the revolutionary banner of anti-imperialism and independence. "
Thus comrade KIM JONG IL correctly taught that the struggle for independence was not merely confined to one country or one region of the world but was a worldwide struggle The great leader President KIM IL SUNG had put the forward the concept of global independence , a revolutionary concept which means that all countries become totally independent and free from all domination, subordination , exploitation and domination. Comrade KIM JONG IL put forward the strategic line of all countries, all nation and all peoples advocating independence should unite under the revolutionary banner of anti-imperialism and independence . This was line was very militant but at the same time firmly grounded in reality as it argued for the maximum unity possible , it argued that all forces opposed to imperialism should be united .
In his 1983 work LET US ADVANCE UNDER THE BANNER OF MARXISM-LENINISM AND THE JUCHE IDEA comrade KIM JONG IL put forward tasks for people freed from the rule of imperialism pointing out that " The peoples of newly-independent countries which cast off
the yoke of imperialism should get rid of the political and economic foothold of foreign imperialists and domestic reactionary forces, strengthen the revolutionary forces, set up a progressive social system and build an independent national economy and national culture."
This was a most revolutionary strategy to finally kick the imperialists out of third world countries and reject neo-colonialism .Sadly,although many countries that achieved formal political independence but remain under the domination of imperialism through the noose of neo-colonialism which has got tighter .This noose can be cut by building an independent national economy and culture . In the work comrade KIM JONG IL brilliantly analysed the nature of contemporary
imperialism and capitalism writing that" Capitalism and imperialism are the last exploiting systems which trample upon the aspiration of the masses for independence in human history, and are the most ferocious oppressive systems which combine class domination with national oppression.
Imperialism has now turned into modern imperialism based on state monopoly capitalism, and it has become more aggressive and brutal than ever before. It is flagrantly challenging the oppressed popular masses in their cause of national liberation, independence and socialism. The imperialists are clinging to neo-colonialism and obstinately pursuing the policy of plundering and subjugating other nations by more covert and crafty methods. "
A most brilliant and eloquent passage which showed a perceptive understanding of the nature of modern imperialism .
Comrade KIM JONG IL took practical measures for advancing the cause of global independence . He paid great attention to the DPRK 's relations with third world and non-aligned countries . Comrade KIM JONG IL accompanied President KIM IL SUNG on his keynote visit to anti-imperialist and independent Indonesia then under the leadership of Sukarno . When socialism was
frustrated in a number of countries owing to the nefarious moves of the modern revisionists and
renegades , comrade KIM JONG IL increased co-operation with Communist and Workers' parties of many lands and had the Pyongyang Declaration , Let Us Advance and Defend the Cause of Socialism adopted in 1992. Comrade KIM JONG IL met Nina Andreeva the renown Russian communist leader.
Comrade KIM JONG IL took measures to improve relations with neighbouring countries , cementing traditional ties of friendship with them by paying visits to Russia and China.
Thus comrade KIM JONG IL struggled for global independence all his life . We Juche idea followers recall the work he did for building a new independent world , free from domination, subjugation , oppression and exploitation .
