KCNA Commentary Blames Japan's Rash Acts

Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- Japan is getting more undisguised in its ambition for a military giant.
The Japanese government is going to formulate the operation of an aircraft carrier through the revision of "defense program guidelines".
This means that Japan is trying to possess aircraft carrier, main force in the modern naval battle, again after the Second World War.
Japan keeps it a secret to rebuild two helicopter escort ships into aircraft carriers.
Generally, many countries of the world confine the displacement of escort warship to 1 000-3 000 tons, but Japan still calls 20 000 tonnage-warship an escort warship.
Japan is hell-bent on the expansion of the theatre of operation of the "Self-Defence Forces", describing its potential possession of aircraft carriers as "introduction of multi-purpose mother-ship".
The international community is deeply concerned about Japan's desperate efforts for the repossession of aircraft carriers which it gave up after the Second World War. Of late, the Swiss newspaper Neue Zurich Zeitung, citing the efforts as the violation of the constitution, called this into question.
Historically, Japan built a huge fleet under the pretext of "insecurity". This has irritated regional countries including China and Russia and the international community as a whole for several decades.
It still claims that its possession of aircraft carriers is to cope with China, but this betrays its ambition for arms buildup and overseas expansion.
If Japan translates into a reality the plan of equipping aircraft carrier with F-35B, its attack capability that has already become functional in any seas and regions will further increase.
What should not be overlooked is that it is mulling including in the "new defence program guidelines" the establishment of a unit tasked to monitor outer space, the setting up of the first marine transport unit in the SDF, access to cyber attack capability and expansion of a military base of the SDF in Djibouti.
It is as clear as noonday that the above-said move will escalate worldwide military tension and arms race as it is part of practical acts to facilitate the free operation of the SDF at home and abroad, unhindered by restraints put on it after its defeat in the Second World War.
Shortly ago, an expert of the Berlin East Asia Institute on the SDF, referring to Japan's arms buildup, said that it is necessary for Japan to think twice.
Japan, a defeated country devoid of the right of belligerency and the right to participate in a war, cried out for the possession of aircraft carriers and goes roughshod for overseas expansion, which is a reckless act to bring terrible disaster to mankind again.
At a time when the balance of force is rapidly changing in the world thanks to a climate of peace and stability, Japan is going against this trend. Therefore, it can be said Japan is certainly the most dangerous force of aggression.
The world should keep vigilant against the rash acts of Japan. -0
