The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK),the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE), the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification of Korea (BSCPRKP)issued a statement in support of the Press Statement of Policy Research Director of Institute for American Studies, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK issued on Sunday 16th :
The Policy Research director of the Insitute for American Studies of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK ) issued a press statement in connection with the question of imprementing the agreed decisions of the DPRK-US Summit in June and the lack of faith shown by the US.
The DPRK-US joint summit , the first of its kind ever, was held in June this year .This was a most unexpected and unprecedented event that was a big step forward for world peace . However the momentum has been lost and at present the proccess does not appear to be moving forward. This is because the US has continued with the anti-DPRK hostile policy despite pledging to end it at the summit .
The US has on 8 occasions, since the DPRK-US summit, imposed sanctions on the DPRK and third countries . This is clearly a hostile act against the DPRK by the US is contrary to the letter and the spirit of the DPRK-US summit .Worse still the US has recently imposed sanctions on three high level officials of the DPRK . This is the height of US imperalist arrogance .
By imposing sanctions on the DPRK  and continually slandered the socialist system of the DPRK the US is negating the basis of dialogue with the DPRK and making it difficult for negotiations with the DPRK to move any further forward.
The DPRK solemnly warns that there is the possiblity that the opportunity for the denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula will be lost forever if the US persists with its present course. The US must realise that sanctions , blockades and so-called 'maxium pressure ' have no effect on the DPRK.
For a successful outcome to the processs of DPRK-US dialogue , the US must rescind its hostile policy towards the DPRK and must stop putting pressure on the DPRK or it must face the consquences .
