Triplets of Korea


President Kim Il Sung said the birth of many triplets is a sign of national prosperity.
According to data available, between 1980 when the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital opened and 2012 three times as many triplets were born as those born from 1945 to 1979.
It is another index showing the true feature of the prospering DPRK as well as the superiority of its socialist health system.
Leader Kim Jong Il saw to it that each boy of triplets was given a silver-decorated knife and each girl a gold ring and their parents too silver-decorated knife and gold ring.
As a result, hundreds of triplets and quadruplets and their parents have been given silver-decorated knives and gold rings since the country’s liberation in 1945.
The DPRK takes all kinds measures for an easy birth to triplets.
Suspected to be pregnant with triplets at the city and county people’s hospitals, the women are sent to the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital and checked up under the deep concern of medical workers and regional officials.
Diagnosed as pregnant with triplets, the women are hospitalized regardless of the time of pregnancy.
The born triplets are sent to baby home and brought up by the state free of charge till the age of education.
Attending school, they develop their ability according to their hope and aptitude at schoolchildren’s palaces and houses across the country.
Today triplets of Korea have grown up under the warm care of the Party and the State and are properly contributing to the building of a thriving nation.
