An online remembrance meeting for the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL was organised by the Korean Friendship Association UK(KFA UK)and British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI) on the 11th of December at 1900 hours GMT.The meeting also marked other significant December anniversaries of the DPRK . It had been called in order to give those who were able to travel into London for the meeting on the 4th of December and international guests a chance to participate.
Participating were members of KFA UK and BGSJI from London , Staffordshire , West of England , north east England and Glasgow . Also present were KFA branches from Greece , Italy and Sweden plus friends of People’s Korea from the USA and Canada and the Polish Chollima Front-Juche Youth.
A 1 minute silence in memory of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL was observed.
The head of KFA UK West of England read out a statement which praised the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL for his work in defending and advancing socialism .
The secretary general of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and chairman of Staffordshire KFA read out extracts of his paper
‘Tears in December ‘ in which he praised the work of comrade KIM JONG IL in developing and defending the Juche Idea and also for reunification and the expansion of the external relations of the DPRK including opening diplomatic relations between the UK and DPRK.
A representative of KFA Italy and head of the Milan Juche Idea Study Centre praised the work of comrade KIM JONG IL in building a socialist independent economy and making sure that the DPRK kept to socialist principles when others introduced the market economy.
A representative of KFA Greece recalled the sad day when the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL passed away and how it was a great loss for the Korean people and world people.
Dr Dermot Hudson Chairman of KFA UK and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea said that the cause of Juche and the work of comrade KIM JONG IL was actively carried forward by dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN who was leading the Korean people to build socialism at a fast pace under the banner of self-reliance,
Dr Hudson also referred to the 104th anniversary of the birth of Madame KIM JONG SUK , the immortal anti-Japanese war heroine and Mother of Korea saying her life was a great example for women and revolutionaries the world over,
Also it is the 30th anniversary of the appointment of comrade KIM JONG IL as Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army . Thanks to the brilliant command of comrade KIM JONG IL , the independence of the DPRK was defended.
A proposal to adopt a joint resolution against the latest US sanctions against People’s Korea was adopted.
A DPRK documentary film was shown .
Meeting concluded at 2030 hours.
