An online meeting was held on 13.02.2021 to mark the Day of the Shining Star , the 79th anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL . It was organised by the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Association for the Study of Songun Politics and the UK Korean Friendship Association .
It was participated in by the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea , the Juche Idea Study Group of Ireland and UK KFA branches and members from London , Staffordshire , Manchester and the West of England . Also participating were the European Regional Society for the Study of the Juche Idea ,KFA Finland and KFA Greece .
A message of greetings was received from the Brazilian Centre for the Study of Songun Politics .
Dr Dermot Hudson opened the meeting and welcomed the participants.
Dr Hudson read out the message from the Brazilian Centre for the Study of Songun Politics which said in part “It is clear that today we have the answer that the Korean people have taken the path. But this was largely due to his faithful and unwavering leadership figured by General Kim Jong Il. Perhaps one day more people around the world will recognize the great political and military personality of Kim Jong Il, who managed in times of crisis to find creative solutions.”
The Chairman of the Juche Idea Study Group of Ireland in his contribution said
“Great Comrade KIM JONG IL was a progressive Comrade who always had the people close to his heart, and his contributions to the society of the DPRK changed the lives of the people for the better.
Great Comrade KIM JONG IL was dedicated to the people from a very young age when he began his work at the CC WPK, and continued right to the very end with the people always being the first and foremost in his mind.
Great Comrade KIM JONG IL created many works which looked at the conditions from a scientific point of view and played an important part in the improvement of the peoples lives. Such works titled “On the Juche Idea” taught that the people and party are together as one! To quote a revolutionary poster “Single Hearted Unity is the great foundation and ever - victorious weapon for the Juche Revolution””
The head of Staffordshire UK KFA Staffordshire branch and secretary general of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea said that
“The most remarkable successes achieved by Socialist Korea in the sector of culture under the leadership of Kim Jong IL. It was in September 1969 that Kim Jong IL put forward the policy of bringing about a revolution in the art of opera aimed at doing away with obsolete patterns in this genre. Kim Jong IL set as the main task of the revolution in the art of opera to make operatic creations”
The meeting was addressed by Juha Kieski director of the European Regional Society for the Study of the Juche Idea and chairman of the Finnish Society for the Study of the Juche Idea . He stressed the importance of the Juche idea in the present era and its vitality . The Juche idea is the way for progressives and communists .
Alan Bolon of KFA UK West of England and a member of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea said that The memory and tribute to Great Leader Kim Jong IL will always remain as a shining star in mankind's path of history.
It will remain forever as an example to us, to revolutionary communists of all the word, the awareness of their lives in sacrifice to others, of dignity to popular masses in socialist construction and for liberation struggles in countries under colonial imperialist occupation.
His life is shining of Juche Idea victory and will stay forever. Staying forever, like his unique character in eternal memory, memory of the greatest and most eminent figures, the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL had defended socialism all his life and developed the Juche idea . As a youth he had played an active part in leading the Youth League in the DPRK . He later developed great theories on building socialism and put them into practice.
Dr Dermot Hudson in his speech said ,in part , that ;”Comrade Kim Jong Il lived a most simple life . As a school student and later as a university student he participated in the reconstruction of Pyongyang following the devastation caused by the US during the Korean War and later in new construction projects to build up Pyongyang better . He also worked at a textile machinery factory at lathe no 26. Thus comrade Kim Jong Il was a true people's leader , always with the people sharing both hardship and joy with them. Often comrade Kim Jong Il did not celebrate his own birthday and dressed in an old parka….
Comrade Kim Jong Il made sure that the DPRK continued firmly along the road of Juche charted by comrade Kim Il Sung by upholding the banner of Juche further supplemented it with the Songun idea and Songun politics the treasured sword for defending independence.
‘Today the DPRK is the world's most independent country . It is seen as a country that does not take nonsense from any imperialists or big powers . This is the legacy of comrade Kim Jong Il, a legacy that is today further developed and carried forward by the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un , the one and only successor to the Juche cause.”
A representative of KFA Greece brought greetings to the meeting and also a representative of KFA in Manchester.
A message to respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted.
