There has been much talk in the imperialist mainstream media about the measures taken by People’s Korea to combat both anti-socialist and non-socialist behaviour as well ideological and cultural infiltration by imperialism . It can be said the ideological and cultural infiltration by imperialism and anti-socialist behaviour go hand in hand .
False stories have been spread by imperialism’s anti-DPRK propaganda organs and copied by the reptile tabloid press alleging that ‘tinted car windows are banned’ and the old discredited story about state sanctioned haircuts repeated again for about the 100th time. These wild stories being peddled by the overpaid hired scribblers of imperialism and the bourgeoisie are aimed at smearing and discrediting the just struggle of People’s Korea against the infiltration of reactionary imperialist ideology and culture which is part of the struggle to defend the independence of the DPRK as well as the socialist system of the DPRK.
It is true that the DPRK enacted a law on rejecting reactionary ideology and culture at the 12th Plenary Meeting of the 14th Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly held on the 5th of December 2020 .
Also at the 8th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea held in January 2021 respected Marshal KIM JONG UN stressed that anti-socialist and non socialist elements should be eliminated from all spheres of life in the country . In 2019 in his historic policy speech , ‘' On Socialist Construction and the Internal and External Policies of the Government of the Republic at the Present Stage’ which was delivered to the 1st session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK on the 12th of April 2019 , respected Marshal KIM JONG UN stated that ‘ "Establishing socialist lifestyle and morality is a serious political struggle and an acute class struggle to defend and glorify our idea and social system’ . The 5th Plenary Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the WPK which met in December of the same year resolved to “ intensify the struggle against anti-socialist and non-socialist deeds and tighten moral discipline,’
The struggle against both imperialist ideological and cultural infiltration and also anti-socialist and non-socialist ideas and practices is indeed a laudable one that should not be slighted by anyone . The imperialists and reactionaries for a long time have placed a great deal of emphasis (plus effort and resources ) on undermining socialist countries from within by ideological and cultural infiltration . John Foster Dulles US secretary of state and brother of Allen Dulles head of the CIA is said to have said the following ‘ We shall arm comedians with jokes that laugh out their present and future.Poison the soul of the youth with disbelief in their purpose in life, awaken their interest in sexual problems, bait them with such lures of the free world as fancy dances, pretty clothing, special records, verses, songs. Sow discord between the youth and the older generation’ . Indeed it was later revealed that the US Central Intelligence Agency actually encouraged so-called modern art as a cultural and ideological weapon against socialism .
Bourgeois and imperialist ideology are insidious toxins that destroy socialism . They can be an invisible and silent enemy that stealthily infiltrate into a socialist country just like a disease entering the body . Indeed you could compare imperialist and bourgeois ideology and culture to Covid 19.
Once the great leader President KIM IL SUNG pointed out that ‘Careless opening may allow mosquitoes and blowflies to fly in and cause damage. We must conduct exchanges and joint ventures with other countries, but we must pitch mosquito nets to prevent those insects from infiltrating ".
The revisionist led socialist countries such as the USSR and the East European countries failed to take measures against the infiltration of imperialist ideology and culture . They allowed themselves to become Americanised and Westernized . Visiting Hungary in 1988 and 1989 I found that the people were into the most rubbishy aspects of bourgeois imperialist pop culture such as Madonna and Rambo. This led to the crumbling of socialism in these countries and the eventual frustration of socialism .
The measures taken by the DPRK against the infiltration of imperialist ideology and culture are not only part of the drive to defend socialism but also to defend the independence of the DPRK from globalisation . The imperialists aim at a unipolar world in which national cultures would be destroyed and would be replaced by a ‘world culture ‘
We salute the just measures taken by People’s Korea.
