The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI) , UK Korean Friendship Association (UK KFA ) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula(BSCPRKP) issued the following joint statement condemning the deeply chauvinist actions of Japan against Korean residents in Japan:
As reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on the 10th of May Japanese reactionaries rioted outside of Korea University , a university run by the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (CHONGRYON) . Korea University is run by CHONGRYON to provide higher education to ethnic Koreans in Japan .Basically the Japanese reactionaries are attacking the right of Koreans in Japan to receive higher education . The Japanese reactionaries are trying to get Korea University shut down .
These racist and reactionary acts by Japanese hooligans have been increasing and have been directly encouraged by the Abe reactionary regime in Japan .
We condemn the racism of the Japanese authorities and Japanese reactionary groups ! We call for the democratic rights of Korean residents to education to be respected and upheld !
