Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) gave the following answer to a question put by KCNA on May 30, concerning the decision made at the meeting of National People's Congress of China on enacting the law to safeguard the state security in Hong Kong.
It is a legitimate step that China has adopted a decision for establishing and perfecting a legal system and an enforcement mechanism based on the Constitution of China and the Basic Law of Hong Kong with the purpose of safeguarding the state security in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the Third Session of the 13th National People's Congress.
In recent years, a grave situation is being created in Hong Kong, which leads to threatening the principle of "One Country, Two Systems" and the national security of China. This is the product of a plot by the outside force and its vassal forces which seek the division and disintegration of China by tarnishing the image of socialist country and fomenting and escalating a social disorder.
Since Hong Kong issue is an issue pertaining thoroughly to the internal affairs of China, any country or force has no rights to say this or that about the issue. We categorically oppose and reject the outside interference detrimental to the security and the social and economic development of Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is an inseparable territory where the sovereignty of People's Republic of China is exercised and its Constitution is applied.
We fully support the measures taken by the Party and government of China for safeguarding the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of the country and achieving stability and prosperity of Hong Kong based on the policy of "One Country, Two Systems". -
