KCNA Commentary Accuses LKP of Going against National Reconciliation

Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- There is a saying that one rotten pear spoils a whole heap.

The conservative group of south Korea denies the historic north-south declarations hailed by all Koreans and the international community only to enrage the public.

During the "parliamentary inspection of the administration" the conservative group led by the "Liberal Korea Party" rejected all matters related to the north-south relations developing on good terms, and cried out for forming the "great unity of all conservatives" and "rising against the ruling camp by concerted efforts".

The reckless moves of the group of traitors talking about the "great conservative unity" in a bid to sap the will of all Koreans to open up a new era of national reconciliation, peace and prosperity can never be pardoned.

The history of the nation clearly records the crime-woven traces of the traitors including those of the LKP who did nothing good for the nation but did harm to it only.

Since the very day of its appearance, confrontation with the compatriots in the north, sycophancy toward big powers, corruption and irregularities have represented the nature peculiar to conservatism. Whenever it faced crisis, it prolonged the remainder of its doomed life by committing betrayal and conspicuous transformation.

By resorting to the ruckus of scandalous "reform", the group of traitors turned the south Korean society into a den of evils.

Notably, the crimes they committed by stamping out the priceless agreements and fruits common to the nation to check national reunification, the cherished desire of all Koreans, are so terrible.

The insanity of the conservatives is to destroy the north-south relations which have been put on a new firm track of peace, reconciliation and cooperation and turn them back to the past when they were plagued with hostility and confrontation.

No matter how noisily they talk about "reform and change" and "new value of conservatism", their nature -- treachery, corruption and irregularities -- can never change.

There is no Korean who will tolerate the mode of existence of the conservatives seeking their way out in perpetuation of the national division.

Political, social and other circles of south Korea are terming the LKP "the target of elimination by the candlelight revolution for its evil doings" and "a political party which should disappear in the next general election." The LKP is being derided by the public for "working hard to preserve its vested rights and win next election."

The history of confrontation pursued by those seeking their dirty ambition for power and partisan interests, instead of the great intention of the nation, should be ended as early as possible.

It is urgent to eliminate the conservative group.

Every Korean should turn out in sweeping away the conservative group and doing things favorable to the improvement of the north-south relations. -0-
