Moral Corruption Is Incurable Disease of Capitalist Society: Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- Society in which noble morality serving the popular masses' independent desire and interests has become a common one is the most progressive one while society in which morality serving a handful of the exploiting class's greed and selfish interests prevails is unpopular and reactionary one, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in an article.

Genuine morality can be found only in socialist society where there is neither exploitation nor oppression and everything serves the popular masses and in which comradely love, unity and cooperation have become the mainstay of social relations, the article says, and goes on:

Bourgeois morality is the most unpopular and reactionary one in human history.

In capitalist society where people from all walks of life have opposing interests and where the desire and interests of capitalist class and monopolistic conglomerates only are justified, there can never be noble and genuine morality of human beings.

It is the capitalist society where only lie, deception, swindling, cruelty and misanthropy prevail, and conscience, obligation, warm loving care, unity and cooperation are so crudely violated there that even an iota of them can never be found.

All fields of cultural life including education, literature and arts and sports have been commercialized, seriously hindering the proper ideological and mental development of the popular masses under capitalism. Under the signboards of "freedom" of thinking and "freedom" of religious beliefs, all tints of reactionary and corrupt ideologies and cultures pervade society, benumbing and degenerating sound thinking ability and mentality of the people.

In capitalist society lots of people turn into the political illiterate, corrupt beings and criminals indifferent to society and collective, to say nothing of the country and the nation.

The moral corruption getting worse due to the imperialists has no cure. This is an incurable disease of capitalist society. -0-
