The ASSPUK , Juche Idea Study Group of England and UK Korean Friendship Association today issued a joint statement in support of the memorandum issued by the special inspection group of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK on "Cheonan" incident, the statement is as follows;

     It is 4 years since the Cheonan warship of the south Korean navy sank with the tragic loss of life of south Korean sailors. To this day the real cause of the sinking remains unknown and is a matter of speculation and conjecture. The most likely explanation is that it was a tragic accident caused by poor seamanship and misjudgement . Some explanations have been put forward that the south Korean corvette sank after a collision with a US submarine the USS
Columbia , some say that the sinking of the Cheonan was a classic case of a US "false flag operation " , a method used time and time again by the US to provoke conflict and invade other countries.  Whatever the ultimate truth about the sinking of the Cheonan is  one thing is for certain  the story spread by the then south Korean puppet regime of Lee Myung Bak that the Cheonan was sank by a torpedo from an unknown DPRK vessel is pure fiction , absolute nonsense without a shred of real evidence. It seems quite ridiculous to assert that a submarine hunting vessel would get sunk by a mini submarine from the other side in the middle of a military exercise ! Unfortunately to this very day the south  Korean authorities repeat the thread-worn lie that the Cheonan was sunk by the DPRK  ! This greatly harms inter-Korean relations and sets the scene for
confrontation .
           The DPRK has done everything to settle the issue amicably in the interests of the promotion of inter-Korean relations and reunification . It proposed soon after the incident to send a special inspection group to south Korea to view the evidence. However the south Korean authorities have rejected this. If they have real evidence that the DPRK was involved in the Cheonan incident then they should show it to the DPRK  NDC inspection group but they have refused to do so.
  We support the 3 point demands of the DPRK NDC Inspection group , firstly that albeit belatedly  the south Korean side should accept the Inspection group of the  DPRK NDC, secondly if they are unable to do this then they stop slandering the DPRK over the incident , and thirdly, the south Korean authorities should take measures to improve relations including the lifting of the anti DPRK sanctions the "May 24th " measures.

It is time for south Korea to break with the past !
