UK KOREAN FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION
                      London 24th December 2012
The UK Korean Friendship Association today issued the following statement The DPRK is probably the only Asian country to have statues of a women leader  displayed prominently in  many parts of the country. . The woman immortalised in the statues is Madame Kim Jong Suk the anti-Japanese revolutionary heroine and Mother of Korea. She was born 95 years ago on the 24th of  December.
Born into a poor peasant family she joined the revolutionary ranks at an early age . She played a great role in the anti-Japanese armed struggle commanded by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung . She fought strongly against Japanese imperialism , against the oppression of landlords and capitalists as well for the liberation of women.
She founded the Democratic Womens Union of North Korea in 1945 thereby making a big contribution to the emancipation of women in Korea. Her teachings were a valuable source of inspiration for women building a new society free from imperialism.
Today in the DPRK women are regarded as flowers of the country and enjoy equal rights with men . Women are playing an increasing role in society. This is the great legacy of Madame Kim Jong Suk and also the result of dearrespected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

UK KFA remembers Madame Kim Jong Suk as a great guerrilla fighter , revolutionary and Mother of Korea.
