Report of JISGE Meeting to celebrate the Day of the Shining Star .02.02/2019

                                  
A meeting of the Juche Idea Study Group of England to celebrate the Day of the Shining Star  was held on the 2nd of February in  central London . It was attended by members of the JISGE, ASSPUK and UK KFA as well as the general secretary of the New Communist Party and a member of the central committee of the New Communist Party . Some people travelled from as far as Manchester to attend the meeting .
  Dr Dermot Hudson chairman of the Juche Idea Study Group of England and UK KFA opened the meeting saying that the Day of the Shining Star ,the birth anniversary of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL , is celebrated  not only by the Korean people but the world people.
 Dr Hudson read out a statement from the DPRK Embassy titled ' Fatherly Man ' which detailed the love and care by comrade KIM JONG IL for foreign Juche idea followers and also sailors of foreign ships .

KIM JONG IL, "The Abuses of Socialism Are Intolerable " was read out in his absence by Dr Dermot Hudson


Dr Hudson made a speech on the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL and the people -centred socialism of Juche . Dr Hudson explained that the maxim of comrade KIM JONG IL was to make flowers bloom on a rock if desired by the people . He said that under the leadership of comrade KIM JONG IL  even during the difficult period of the arduous march , Korean people enjoyed the benefits of free education and free health care etc . Comrade KIM JONG IL had made sure that the DPRK was totally independent and not a copy of other countries.
                        
  Shaun Pickford secretary general of the JISGE gave a detailed and in depth presentation on Juche and Culture in which he made a reference  to the classic work of comrade KIM JONG IL  'On the Cinema '  . Shaun explained that the DPRK developed a culture that is national in form and socialist in content .
 Dermot Hudson presented Shaun Pickford with a gift  to mark his forthcoming birthday and 25 years as JISGE secretary general.
 Andy Brooks general secretary of the New Communist Party and editor of the New Worker spoke about visiting the DPRK in 2000 for the Day of the Shining Star and recalled visiting the Korean Film Studio . He spoke about the teachings of comrade KIM JONG IL on the cinema and his guidance to the film industry .
   A speech was made about the 71st anniversary of the Korean People's Army praising the role of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG , Chairman KIM JONG IL and Marshal KIM JONG UN . He said that the DPRK had developed a nuclear deterrent and the KPA had special forces .The DPRK gave internationalist assistance to Vietnam , Egypt and Zimbabwe .

Dr Hudson said that the Venezuela shows how correct the DPRK was to pursue the Songun policy and to build a nuclear deterrent. 

There was a lively discussion . People discussed how to refute malicious anti- DPRK propaganda . Participants also praised the DPRK's internationalist support for peoples struggling for liberation. A recent visitor to the DPRK gave a short account of his visit.

Discussion was also held about organising the DPRK poster exhibition in April.

A message to dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted.

An exhibition of publications from the DPRK including the works of the great leaders comrades KIM IL SUNG , KIM JONG IL and KIM JONG UN.

Refreshments were served.
Meeting concluded at 17.10 hours.
