Roar of anti-U.S. feeling

Roar of anti-U.S. feeling

Now the Korean nation and international community wish consistent détente of the Korean Peninsula and dialogue between the south and the north of Korea with the Winter Olympics as an occasion.
However, the U.S. is busy with its effort to drive the situation to the brink of a war by resuming large-scale joint military drills, saying the thawing season of inter-Korean relations would end after extinguishment of Winter Olympics torch.
In this regard, broad segments of south Korean people vehemently criticize the move of the U.S. to destroy security and peace of the Korean Peninsula, branding it as a vicious plot to block the improvement of inter-Korean relationship.
On March 3, an organization composed of 28 groups including the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, the People’s Democratic Party and the movement headquarters for peace treaty held a rally to denounce the U.S. hamstringing the process of inter-Korean ties in front of the U.S. embassy in Seoul.
In order to avert a war and make a radical improvement of inter-Korean relations, the south Korean government, to begin with, should push forward inter-Korean dialogue with maintenance of national cooperation and independence, they said and continued that it should curb the U.S. intervention in the south-north relations.
The U.S. should not poke its nose into internal affairs of the Korean nation and give up the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises inviting the danger of a nuclear war for good, they asserted.
They called for the people to hold a larger-scale rally against the U.S.-south Korea joint military games on April 7.
Going round the Gwanghwamun avenue and the U.S. embassy ended the rally.
The above-said facts show that the U.S. is the author of inter-Korean confrontation, an obstacle to Korea’s reunification, wrecker of peace on the Korean Peninsula and the source of a war.
