Great Man and Solid Farmer

Great Man and Solid Farmer

President Kim Il Sung built the DPRK as a country of the self-supporting economy by wisely leading the economic affairs of the nation with an extensive knowledge of all sectors of the economy including agriculture.
The following happened in June Juche 64(1975) when he visited a country in East Europe.
Guided by the head of the communist party of that country, Kim Il Sung looked round a wheat field of a farm that was known as the best in that country.
Watching the wheat field swaying in a balmy wind, he said the farm raised good crops and sowed seeds well.
The guide was surprised to hear him estimate the crop condition and sowing at the first glance.
When Kim Il Sung asked how many seeds were sown per hectare, officials of that country lacking a deep knowledge of farming summoned the chief engineer of the farm to give answer.
Kim Il Sung picked an ear of wheat and husked it, asking about the quantities of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers applied per hectare.
The chief engineer answered the figure.
Kim Il Sung bent his back and felt earth, saying:
The soil is very good. The grain of wheat got ripe so well because you applied 80 kg of nitrogen fertilizer per hectare. It means the soil is very good.
The remarks proved his deep knowledge of farming. Officials of that country were filled with greater admiration.
The head of the party said they could not do farming at ease under the influence of cold front.
Kim Il Sung noted that the area of iceberg in the arctic region increased by 12%. It intensifies the influence of the cold front so much. In order to prevent it our country introduced humus cake maze seedlings, observes the principles of right crop in the right time and right crop on right soil and ameliorates the cold and damp land and thus yields a secure harvest.
Deeply moved at it, the head of the party of that country asked how he made time to learn farming methods so deeply while engaging in the state administration. He also added unceremoniously that Kim Il Sung just looked a solid farmer.
President Kim Il Sung thanked for it smiling.
He pointed out that if one is to manage the affairs of state properly, he should be a smelter at an iron works, a fisherman in the sea and a solid farmer in the countryside.
After that a story about a great man and a solid farmer spread wide in the country, touching the heart strings of people.
The story felt by President Kim Il Sung on his foreign tour is told forever as a revolutionary legend on the noble traits and virtues of the peerlessly great man..
