The mainstream media and Western social media made a lot of a BBC report about a DPRK smartphone which they claimed had been ‘smuggled out of north Korea (DPRK)” which in fact had been supplied to the BBC reporter by the far right CIA and NED back “ Daily NK “ of south Korea . There is no need to ‘smuggle’ phones out of the DPRK; you can buy them in the shops .
The BBC worked itself into quite a tizzy over the fact that the dictionary on the phone states that the word “Oppa “ can only be used to refer to a sibling .There is nothing sinister about this at all and it is not censorship .DPRK is upholding correct linguistic standards as well as morals and ethics . Clearly it is nonsensical and illogical to refer to a boyfriend as ‘brother ‘ but apparently this is common usage in south Korea . Not only does it smack of incest but apparently the word came from the massive sex industry in south Korea ( south Korea is notorious for prostitution which is associated with the US military bases in the country ).
The Republic of Korea (ROK-south Korea ) is a Yankee colony of a modern type whose culture is completely corrupted and debased . K-pop is merely a poor imitation of US and Japanese music and promotes decadence and immorality .
For several years overpaid Western mainstream media journalists have been banging on against the law on rejecting reactionary ideology and culture of the DPRK at the 12th Plenary Meeting of the 14th Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly held on the 5th of December 2020. This is seen as something sinister and perverse by the imperialist scribblers . In fact it is to protect the socialist system of the DPRK and to resist and repel the all pervasive ,toxic and insidious cultural imperialism of the US and the West . In 2019 respected Marshal KIM JONG UN said “ Establishing socialist lifestyle and morality is a serious political struggle and an acute class struggle to defend and glorify our idea and social system’
The struggle to defend socialism from the corrosive infiltration of Western imperialist culture and ideology is a just and vital one. Once the director of the US Central Intelligence Agency said “We shall arm comedians with jokes that laugh out their present and future.Poison the soul of the youth with disbelief in their purpose in life, awaken their interest in sexual problems, bait them with such lures of the free world as fancy dances, pretty clothing, special records, verses, songs. Sow discord between the youth and the older generation’ . Indeed it was later revealed that the US Central Intelligence Agency actually encouraged so-called modern art as a cultural and ideological weapon against socialism .
Western imperialist culture and ideology are insidious toxins that destroy socialism . They can be an invisible and silent enemy that stealthily infiltrates into a socialist country just like a disease entering the body. Moreover the infiltration of imperialist culture and ideology into socialist and independent anti-imperialist countries as the advance guard or shock troops for the ‘colour revolution’
In the past socialist countries such as the USSR and the East European countries failed to take measures against the infiltration of imperialist ideology and culture . They allowed themselves to become Americanised and Westernized . Visiting Hungary in 1988 and 1989 I found that the people were into the most rubbishy aspects of bourgeois imperialist pop culture such as Madonna and Rambo. This led to the crumbling of socialism in these countries and to eventual collapse of socialism.
The cultural imperialism of the United States is a massive problem in the world .The US aims at creating a unipolar world and obliterating national cultures in the pursuit of globalisation . In the UK where the so-called “special relationship “ with the US predominates , we have fallen victim to the cultural imperialism of the US . Many examples can be given but one that sticks out in my mind is the Americanisation and “Hollywoodization “ of the once brilliant British sci-fi tv show “Dr Who “ which has been taken over by Disney and reduced to the level of American style banality .
People’s Korea is absolutely right to defend its culture ,system and way of life from the cultural invasion of the US and Western imperialists . The measures taken by People’s Korea are an act of resistance against the US empire and globalisation !
