The Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK) together with the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea organised the 4th Reading session on the booklet “ Understanding Korea -Volume 9 Human Rights “ on the 16 June 2025 at 1900 hours BST via Telegram.
Participating in the session were KFA UK members and officials from London , Scotland and other parts of the UK as well guests from KFA Canada ,KFA Germany and the People’s Korea Initiative of Poland.
Dr Dermot Hudson, Chairman of KFA UK and Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, read out sections 42 to 49 of the booklet . He explained that the socialist system of the DPRK guarantees DPRK citizens many rights .
It was pointed out that in the DPRK citizens not only have the right to elect but to be elected . Even members of the armed forces in the DPRK have the right to be elected , this right is not granted to members of the armed forces in the UK . Also the DPRK Nationality Law allows foreigners to acquire DPRK nationality therefore it is a myth that the DPRK is an ‘ethno-state ‘.
Discussions took place about the criminal law in the DPRK and its application .It was stressed that the DPRK’s criminal law is fairer than criminal law in capitalist countries .
