London 17th of January 2025  

The  British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea(BGSJI) and  the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK(KFA UK))issued a joint statement in support of the press statement of the chief of the External Policy Office of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK ) titled "We will contain the planned hostile military provocations and control the unstable regional situation with more thorough exercise of the right to self-defence" that was published on the 17th of January ;

Since the beginning of 2025 the US imperialists and their lackeys such as Japan and the ROK  have carried out many serious military provocations against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK ) gravely undermining peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and surrounding region.

For example " On January 6 and 9, the U.S. Air Force strategic reconnaissance planes flew over the Korean peninsula several times to perpetrate aerial espionage against the DPRK's strategic depth. On January 10, the 4th U.S.-ROK "nuclear consultative group" meeting was held in Washington to simulate a nuclear war drill on the Korean peninsula and an increase in the visibility of deploying U.S. strategic assets.

On Jan. 15, B-1B strategic bombers of the U.S. Air Force were deployed in the sky over the open sea near the Korean peninsula to conduct a U.S.-Japan-ROK joint air drill. On the same day, the U.S. and ROK air forces staged the first air live-shell firing drill for this year."

The US is stirring up tensions on the Korean peninsula and stoking the fires of a potential nuclear war . Last year the US and the ROK puppets carried out numerous provocative military exercises one after another despite repeated warnings from the DPRK and condemnation from the international peace movement.

The press statement of the chief of the External Policy Office of the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK clarifies that the DPRK has the right to self-defence and will exercise it .

We support and uphold the DPRK's right to defend itself from the aggression of the US and their lackeys the ROK puppets !
