  The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI) , UK Korean Friendship Association (UK KFA ) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula(BSCPRKP)   issued the following joint statement highly appraising the letter titled '"Let Us Open a New Era of Rejuvenation of Chongryon by Enlisting the Inexhaustible Strength of the Compatriots of Various Social Strata ' which was sent by respected Marshal KIM JONG UN to the 25th Congress of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (CHONGRYON ) ;

  The 25th Congress of CHONGRYON was held in Tokyo , Japan on the 28th to the 29th of May . CHONGRYON is the proud overseas citizens organisation of Juche Korea which fights for the rights of ethnic Korean citizens in Japan and defends their interests . On the 29th of May respected Marshal 

KIM JONG UN  sent a letter to the Congress of CHONGRYON titled "Let Us Open a New Era of Rejuvenation of Chongryon by Enlisting the Inexhaustible Strength of the Compatriots of Various Social Strata"  in which he put forward important tasks to rejuvenate CHONGRYON .  

  In the letter respected Marshal KIM JONG UN praised the history of CHONGRYON  saying that 'To look back, the long course Chongryon has traversed up to now since the day of its formation, when the movement of Koreans in Japan rooted in Paektu, the sacred mountain of the revolution, was firmly put into the Juche-oriented orbit, is proudly recorded with its congresses that constituted watersheds of inheritance and innovation, advance and leap forward."

   Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN  stressed that CHONGRYON must orient its activities around the principle of fellow compatriots first . This is an embodiment of the Juche Idea and the people-first principle .

  CHONGRYON is urged by respected Marshal KIM JONG UN to step up the struggle to defend the democratic national rights of Korean residents in Japan which are under constant attack by the reactionary Japanese racists .Moreover CHONGRYON should fight to realise the right of Korean residents in Japan to travel to the Juche motherland , a right that had been denied by the vile and nefarious Japanese reactionaries .

   Secondly , CHONGRYON should develop national education for Koreans in Japan because as respected Marshal KIM JONG UN points out "Democratic national education is the lifeline of Chongryon and the movement of the Koreans in Japan and a patriotic undertaking of ever-lasting value on which the existence and future of the community of Koreans in Japan depend." .

 Various tasks are set down for the development of national education .

  Thirdly , respected Marshal KIM JONG UN stresses that CHONGRYON must strengthen the work of preserving and upholding national identity .

We believe that the letter of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN will be a great inspiration to Korean compatriots in Japan and lead to a new upsurge in the work of CHONGRYON .
