Pyongyang, January 11 (KCNA) -- Independence, peace and friendship are
an avowed idea of the foreign policy of the Workers' Party of Korea and
the government of the DPRK, says Rodong Sinmun Saturday in an article.
The foreign policy of the DPRK reflects the common desire of the
Koreans and the world progressives and the requirement of the present
international situation, the article says, and goes on:
Independence is the principled stand of the party and people of the DPRK.
The DPRK will strengthen solidarity with world anti-imperialist and
independent forces including socialist and non-aligned countries on the
principle of independence, and develop good-neighborliness with all
countries which respect the sovereignty of the DPRK.
The people of the DPRK are pushing forward the building of a
thriving socialist country by holding rifle on one hand and hammer or
sickle on the other hand despite the imperialists' continued aggression
and war moves. Peace is most valuable to the Koreans under this
situation. It is entirely thanks to the peace-loving efforts made by the
DPRK that a war has not broken out on the peninsula under such tense
situation.
Friendship and solidarity are closely related. Only when solidarity
is achieved in the idea of friendship, can it be solidarity in the true
sense of words and display its great might.
The DPRK, setting it as an important policy of its foreign
activities to develop friendship with world people, is making every
possible effort for its realization.
The army and people of the DPRK will carry out the idea of
independence, peace and friendship and work hard to foil the
imperialists' aggression and war moves and realize the cause of global
independence. -0-
