                        The ASSPUK, Juche Idea Study Group of England and UK Korean Friendship Association issued a joint statement in support of the proposals made by the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on the 16th of January 2014. It reads as follows;
                                                                             Now the eyes of the world-peace loving people  are watching the Korean peninsula with unease and apprehension because of the ill-boding moves of the US imperialists and south Korean puppets to hold the "Foal Eagle " and "Key Resolve " military exercises from the end of February . These exercises are very dangerous indeed as last year they brought the situation to the brink of war.
                                               Now the National Defence Commission of the DPRK the highest organ of  state power in the DPRK has on behalf of the DPRK government, parties and organisations , made proposals to defuse tensions that have been created by the annoucement of the plan to stage Foal Eagle and Key Resolve.
               The NDC of the DPRK has proposed that there should be an immediate unconditional halt to all military activities aimed at the DPRK in collusion with outside forces , this would mean the cancellation of Foal Eagle and Key Resolve. It was also proposed that mutual slander should cease and all provocative actions should cease particularly in the West sea region which is a major flashpoint.
       These proposals of the DPRK NDC are a timely measure containing concrete proposals to prevent the recurrence of tension and put the Korean peninsula on the track of peace.  The proposals offer a genuine hope of avoiding a conflict on the Korean peninsula . They reflecting the peace-loving nature of the DPRK a socialist country which does not have a monopoly capitalist munitions industry which profits from war . The proposals are a manifestation of the will of the supreme leader of the DPRK dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN to prevent way and peacefully reunify the country.
                        Our organisations, the ASSPUK, JISGE and UK KFA , fully support these just proposals . In order to prevent a recurrence of last years extreme tension the south Korean authorities must unconditionally accept these proposals and cancel the reckless and provocative "Key Resolve " and "Foal Eagle ".
