Rodong Sinmun Blasts Japanese Right-wing Politicians' Group Visit to Yasukuni Shrine

Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA)-- Rodong Sinmun in a commentary on Monday blasts Dietmen belonging to the "Dietmen's Council for Calling on Everybody to Visit Yasukuni Shrine," an ultra-right organization of Japan, for flocking to the shrine and burning incense on August 15, calling back the departed soul of militarists.
This is a dangerous move to revive militarism as it is an open negation of the Japanese imperialists' history of aggression, the commentary notes.
Laying bare the purpose of their visit to the shrine, it goes on:
By making it a tradition to visit the shrine as regular event they seek to paint the war criminals as "heroes" and "patriots" and thus infuse the militarist idea deep into the minds of the Japanese. This is, in essence, nothing but an attempt to bring back those days when the Japanese imperialists dominated Asia, talking about "the Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere" in the last century.
It is their calculation that when the war criminals are praised, people will idolize and follow them and, consequently, revanchism will prevail in society. That is why they stage such farces as visits to the shrine on every anniversary and pray for the soul of the dead, describing the death of the war criminals as "sacrifices for peace and prosperity of Asia and Japan".
It is the basic objective of the Japanese reactionaries to urge not only a limited number of Japanese but all of them to visit the shrine, prepare them as diehard militarists and hurl them into overseas aggression. To this end the above-said politicians of Japan visited the shrine despite protest and condemnation of the world community.
The above-said facts show no one can vouch that the Japanese equipped with such militarist idea will not go out for repeating the crime-woven history. -0-
