Today the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK,the Juche Idea Study Group of England and UK KFA issued the following statement on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Kwangju uprising.
Last week was the 30th anniversary of the uprising of the people of Kwangju city in south Korea against the despotic fascist military rule of the Chon Du Hwan puppet clique of south Korea.Chun was a traitor to the Korean nation trained in the US.
Kwangju symbolises the heroism and sacrifice of the south Korean people in their struggle for democratisation and independence and reunification.The Kwangju uprising added a new chapter to the history of the struggle of the south Korean popular masses.
The Kwangju uprising was an eruption of the pent up wrath of the popular masses against the corrupt fascist rule of south Korean puppet dictator Chun Do Hwan and against the brutal colonial rule of US imperialism.It shook US imperialism to its foundations.
The Kwangju uprisers showed unprecedented heroism and self sacrifice in their struggle
against fascism and against the traitors to the Korean nation.
The Kwangju uprising was an inspiration and example to the peoples of the third world fighting against neo colonial anti popular regimes.It was a powerful example to liberation movements throughout the world.It showed justice can be only be achieved through force of arms.
Although the south Korean puppets and US imperialists drowned the Kwangju uprisers in a sea blood their spirit remains alive.One day their dream of democracy that they died for will be realised.
Today a new fascist neo colonial puppet regime is in power.One day it will be shaken by a 2nd and a 3rd Kwangju uprising which will sweep it and the US imperialists into the sea.
Long live the spirit of Kwangju
