ON THE CHENONAN INCIDENT
It is with a great deal of alarm that we in the Staffordshire Regional Committee of the UK KFA view the sabre-rattling of the Lee Myoung Bak regime in south Korea over the Cheonan affair.The Lee Myoung Bak clique is attempting to raise tensions on the Korean peninsula inregard to the Cheonan incident, threatening the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea with further sanctions and possible aggression
When this naval vessel sank March 2010 in Korea's West Sea the south Korean authorities categorically stated that the Cheonan sank due to a technical error. World public opinion considered the sinking of the Cheonan as a tragic accident
Due to the wide ambitions of the ultra-rigthists in south Korea to isolate and stifle the DPRK, the south Korean authorities have fabricated a legend about a north Korean torpedo destroying the Cheonan. These allegations from Seoul have distorted reality into pure fantasy. Lee Myoung Bak and his cohorts have invented this story so as to cover up their own unpopularity with the south Korean people and as part of their psychological warfare offensive aganist north Korea.
The south Korean authorities, the USA and Japan plan to internationalize this issue and apply pressure on the DPRK. The imperialists should know that such methods as big power bullying will not work with inrespect to Socialist Korea.The people and army of the DPRK guided by its Supreme Leadership will resolutely counter any provocative measures from the US and south Korean side. If Lee Myoung Bak follows a path of confrontation with the DPRK, then this rigthist group would only end looking like a fool on the edge of disgrace.Peoples Korea only wants Peace and Reunification on the Korean peninsula, the DPRK desires to carry on the traditions of reconciliation between the north and the south of Korea started 10 years ago under the patriotic banner of "By Our Nation Itself".
We urge the UK coalition government not to be dragged into the imprudent machinations of the Seoul regime.The Staffordshire Committee of the UK Korean Friendship Association calls upon the Labour and Trade Union Movement, The Peace and Anti-Imperialist Movements to stop the extremely dangerous war moves of the Lee Myoung Bak Dictatorship. The people of goodwill throughout Britain do not want to repeat the painful debacle of the Iraq invasion, that is being led into a conflict based on a lie. Now this untruth is made up by Lee Myoung Bak. Let us demonstrate our sincere solidarity with the Korean people for Peace and Reunification!
