Report of KFA UK and British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea online meeting to report back from the visit to People’s Korea 11.11.2025.



The Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) and the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea held a successful online meeting on the 11th of November at 1900 hours BST to hear reports of the recent visit to the DPRK in October 2025 . The meeting attracted participation from members and officials of KFA UK from London , Staffordshire , Scotland and other parts of the UK as well as guests from KFA Andalusia (Spain), KFA Germany , KFA Poland ,the People’s Korea Initiative of Poland and the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association plus participants from the Netherlands  and many other countries.


The meeting first held a report of the visit to the DPRK in October from a UK academic who stressed that he was very impressed by the clean streets of Pyongyang that were free from graffiti and vandalism and there were no homeless people on the street . The speaker explained how the DPRK was able to bring many young people onto the streets of central Pyongyang without fear of trouble and disorder . He noted how people departed from the mass events in an orderly ,calm and peaceful fashion . In general Pyongyang had an air of tranquility and he could see that it developing rapidly but in a fashion that is Korean and socialist .



Dr Dermot Hudson chairman of KFA UK and Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea recalled the visit and said in part that “ It was a week in paradise away from the stress of life under decaying capitalism and imperialism” and that “We saw that Pyongyang was a blaze of light and colour at night . The imperialists are lying when they say that there is no electricity in the DPRK . Rather than “everyone starving “ , we saw no homeless or beggars on the streets  and the guide for another delegation said that people get free housing and food only costs 0.3 dollars per month , just compare that to the UK


There followed a very lively discussion with questions about education in the DPRK , mass events , food in the DPRK, advances in military technology and the question of Marxism-Leninism in the DPRK .
