Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Sends Greetings to Cuban President

Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a message of greeting to Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic of Cuba, on Jan. 1.

The message extended warm congratulations and comradely greetings to the first secretary, the Communist Party of Cuba, the government of the Republic of Cuba and the friendly Cuban people on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the victory of the Cuban revolution.

The brilliant victory of the Cuban revolution achieved under the leadership of Comrade Fidel Castro Ruz was a historic event of great significance in carving out the destiny of the Cuban people and in developing the revolutionary movement in Latin America, the message noted.

For the past 65 years since the victory of the revolution, the Cuban people have firmly defended the revolutionary gains won at the cost of their blood, boldly foiling the vicious and persistent challenges of the hostile forces in the tempests of history, it noted, adding that they are now vigorously advancing towards the building of a prosperous socialist state, firmly united around the Communist Party of Cuba headed by the first secretary.

Our Party, government and people highly appreciate the fraternal Cuban people who are steadily carrying forward the revolutionary baton handed down by their forerunners while overcoming the trials and difficulties with indomitable will and through creative struggle, and extend full support and solidarity to the struggle of the Cuban party, government and people, it added.

Expressing belief that the traditional and comradely relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties and the two countries, forged in the joint struggle for the victory of the socialist cause, would grow stronger in the future, it sincerely wished the first secretary greater success in his responsible work. -0-
