  The Association for the Study of Songun Politics(ASSPUK) , the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI), the Korean Friendship Association of the UK ( KFA UK) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula (BSCPRKP)issued the following joint statement in support of the recent press statement by comrade Kim Son Gyong, vice-minister for International Organizations of the Foreign Ministry(FM) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK);

As is noted by many people and many commentators tension on the Korean peninsula is rising rapidly due to the constant provocations of the US imperialists and south Korean puppets. In the coming weeks, the US and south Korea will conduct at least 3 or 4 different military exercises including 'Freedom Shield .  Recently the US and south Korea staged drills for 'extended deterrence ' and also an exercise with B-1B strategic bombers and MQ-9 Reaper combat drones.

In his press statement comrade Kim Son Gyong rightly exposes the double standards being maintained by the United Nations (UN ) which is always quick to find fault with the DPRK's legitimate right of self-defence but at the same time keeps silent about the incessant warmongering exercises carried out by the US and south Korea which are an infringement of the DPRK's sovereignty. Moreover, the exercises are regime change exercises aimed at ending the existence of the DPRK. Surely the UN as a supposedly impartial body should be condemning and denouncing such exercises? but apparently not!

Comrade Kim Son Gyong calls for the UN and the international community to strongly urge an immediate halt to the war exercises of the US and south Korea.

We support the call of the DPRK for the UN to act in a proper manner and censure the US and south Korea for their repeated anti-DPRK moves.
