           The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK,the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea Study ,the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula(BSCPRKP) today issued a statement about the rising tension on the Korean peninsula;

 There is no doubt that the situation on the Korean peninsula is edgeing near to the point of explosion . This is solely due to the continous anti-DPRK moves of the US imperialists and the south Korean puppet reactionaries .The US imperialists and south Korean puppets are hell bent on overthrowing the socialist system of the DPRK and colonising the northern part of Korea.

 Although from the begining of the year the DPRK concentrated its efforts on economic construction and did not carry out any missile tests , the US imperialists and south Korean puppets have constantly banged the drum of war very loudly talking about 'extended deterrence ' etc . The US stated that it would deploy more nuclear strategic means to the Korean peninsula . It also talked openly of attacking the DPRK with nuclear weapons.

In February the US brought into the Korean peninsula   B-1B nuclear strategic bombers, F-22, F-35B and other stealth fighters. The US and south Korea staged aerial attack drills on the DPRK. 

In March the US deployed the USS Howard Lorenzen to the Korean peninsula . On the 13th of March the US imperialists and south Korean puppets began the 11th day long ' Freedom Shield 'war exercises which are greater in scale than the old Foal Eagle exercises .Significantly the exercises include ' leadership removal ' drills which clearly aim at the destruction of the socialist system of the DPRK.

There is a wider context to the reckless war moves of the US imperialists . The US is keen to create an Asian version of the hated NATO war alliance and has already brought into being the "AUKUS" bloc . This shows the aggressive intent of the US not only towards the DPRK but the whole of the Asia-Pacific region .

It is for these reasons that on the 16th of March the DPRK successfully tested the Hwasong-pho 17 ICBM . This was a powerful demonstration of the DPRK's deterrent power and a just counter-action to the warmongering moves of the US imperialists and south Korean puppet traitors . The test was another great victory for Juche and self-reliance . The test serves as a warning to the US and south Korea to not encroach on the DPRK's sovereignty and supreme interests .

The US imperialists and south Korean puppets should stop their warmongering moves and threats against People's Korea .

It is time to increase solidarity with People's Korea !
