The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK (ASSPUK),the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea(BGSJI), the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA), the UK  KFA Trade Union Section and British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification (BSCPRKP)  issued a joint statement congratulating the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea on the 75th anniversary of its foundation ;

 75 years today on the 30th of November 1945 the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea was founded by the Korean working class led by the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG as the vanguard detachment of the revolution.

The General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK )is a revolutionary political organization of the working masses. . It conducts ideological education to ensure its members fully understand the Juche idea and gets them to take part in socialist construction and the management of the socialist economy with the attitude befitting masters. It has its organizations in different branches of industry. It is a reliable revolutionary transmission belt of the Workers' Party of Korea .

Thanks to the GFTUK the working class of Korea takes part in production with the attitude of a master and displays independence and creativity .

Today the ideas of President KIM IL SUNG and Chairman KIM JONG IL on the work of the trade unions is reliably carried forward by the dear respected leader Marshal KIM JONG UN who wrote the work "The Duty of the Working Class of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il for the Times and the Tasks Facing Trade Union Organizations".

Our organisations heartily congratulate the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea on its 75th anniversary and wishes it every success for the future.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Sends Birthday Spread to Pro-Reunification Patriotic Fighter

 Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un sent a birthday spread to Jang Ho, an indomitable pro-reunification patriotic fighter, on his 100th birthday.

Jang Ho, born into a poor family in Mapho District, Seoul City, keenly experienced the grief at statelessness, being subjected to maltreatment and contempt in a foreign country.

He could lead a worthwhile life only after President Kim Il Sung liberated the country and built a genuine country of the people.

He dedicated himself to the building of a new country out of his pledge to live up to the President's benevolence. He, as a journalist, contributed to encouraging the people to win victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and to turn out in the postwar reconstruction.

He was arrested by enemy while bravely struggling for national reunification. He fought for over 30 years in jail to preserve his revolutionary faith and obligation with firm belief in our Party.

Chairman Kim Jong Il made sure that he and other unconverted long-term prisoners, who had invariably taken the road of patriotism and reunification, were repatriated to the socialist homeland and awarded the Title of DPRK Hero, National Reunification Prize and other state commendations.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, taking warm care of him, saw to it that he took part as delegate in major national events such as the celebrations for the 100th birthday of President Kim Il Sung, the 4th National Conference of War Veterans and the Seventh Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The former unconverted long-term prisoner thanked the Party for remembering his birthday and bestowing benevolence on him. -0-

Eighty Days of Revolutionary Enthusiasm - KFA UK West of England

 

   

    There is no country in the world such a Democratic Republic of Korea, where the society is so strongly united in common goals. Through the years and decades DPRK's economy has grown successfully to maintain economic independence, self - sufficiency and self - reliance, due to ideological directions of Juche Philosophy being the main assumptions of the internal policies. As the mainstream world news is about the world health crisis due to pandemic, the main capitalist countries around the world are focused to overcome difficult situations with the crisis caused by a collapsing economy. It is both the result of the inefficiency of the capitalist economic system and the lack of properly planned organised prevention in the struggle with pandemic.   

  The  Democratic People's Republic of Korea on the end of 2020 is being on the 80 - days battle to increase production and advance the glorious revolution. It began from a militant appeal created by the Workers Party of Korea - Central Committee, as powerful regards to the 75 anniversary of founding the Party with the 8th Party Congress. The Party members and people across the country are strongly mobilized to work hard in all sectors of the economy and agriculture. 80 - days battle in agriculture is for increasing food production on collective socialist farms linked to many vegetable farms in greenhouses and fruit crops. All of these endeavors have wider meaning than 80 - days campaign, it is a plan to prepare also for next year's agriculture tasks due to implementation coordinated of the five - year plan national strategy to be successfully finished at the end of this year.

  It is admirable and positively surprising, how DPRK country is coping well and wonderfully to overthrow the pandemic, what for many imperialist countries has not been achieved. It has allowed a greater focus on national economic development with increased effort to production on the electric power industry sector, heavy iron industry, transporting services, chemistry, coal and mineral mining - every economic sector. 

   One of the important goals of this campaign is  that all DPRK's citizens affected by the last series of natural disasters are living stable and prepared before winter season time. After series floods the mobilization of military forces Korean People Army works 'hand by hand' with 

  Moreover, the 80 - days battle is also to boost the national emergency epidemic prevention project and progress in the national prevention front to uphold achievements so far. 

  What is the essential of the revolutionary spirit of the 80 days battle in DPRK's economy?

   The essential and common factor is peculiar and unique fervor of the entire socialist society Implementation of Marxism - Leninism principles with Juche Philosophy to DPRK's economy unleashed the enormous potential of Korean nation. With connection to revolutionary traditions and achievements of  Eternal Leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, under guided by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un -  Korean society is strongly united in the struggle for the best performance and execution of the 80 - days campaign plan. The heroes in their daily work vigorously fight for increasing production with patriotism in union and loyalty to Party's politics and Juche fire in their hearts. It is unheard of anywhere in the world that every morning awakened by the national anthem, Korean society with singing , willingness and joy, enthusiasm going to work and when the working day is in end, citizens of DPRK asking themselves: 

             What did I do for the 80 days battle? Did I carry out my battle plan today? 

  On many battle fronts from 80 - days campaign, on forefront especially all of workers are fighting with loyalty and sacrifices through fierce days and nights to achieve goals set by the Party until deadline, until finally ending with honor big projects and tasks. 

The capitalist's societies alienation in four dimensions described 175 years ago one of the leaders and founders of communist movement - Karl Marx, in chapter four of his work called: 'The Holy Family' is the factor to discouraged employees in capitalist countries to efficient and effective work because it is not in the interest of the employee as is being robbed from the value of work and receives only a modest alms for survive.

  It is not known in capitalist countries, where workers who feel foreign of their labor and to themselves, feel alienated in the workplace and through that working ineffective just to earn The labour in socialist country as DPRK is, has much wider meaning and value than earning money to survive as this is in all capitalist countries. The surplus value of labour is used for social good and development not for private profits of bourgeois. Employees in DPRK are fully aware that creating value of work to improve well - being and profits fairly shared for all society not robbed for capitalist bourgeois. Therefore it is a great incentive to work as best as can. Everyone's concern is to struggle to produce the best high quality  consumer goods. It is opposite to the imperialist bourgeois economic sector that produces expensive and poor quality goods as the capitalist and owner of the manufacturer only cares about the greatest possible financial profit and not the satisfaction of the buyer - customer.

    Currently in the end of November as Kim Yo - Jong ( Deputy Director of the Workers Party of Korea ) said: ' ... 60 percent of the people are in construction sites to work while the 40 percent are in an establishment and office works ... ' It shows us how the Korean society is efficiently and wisely mobilized to prioritize their work, to raise its spirit at each workplace.

  The true communist party, Workers Party of Korea strives to gain active support to lead the society for an active role in and achieve the best results of 80 - days campaign battle. It is the main role of communist party to conscious unity of the entire DPRK peoples. 

  Compared to the world's capitalist economy it is significantly marked that DPRK's socialist economy under planned development works very well, much better than capitalism as a system of exploitation that generates crisis, inequality , corruption, environmental degradation and war. The eighty days of campaign full of revolutionary spirit from communist society, fully of organised efforts  will strengthen DPRK's economy and will show to the world how big in practice ways is the Korean It is, because DPRK's socialist society is strongly united on the march to communism as contrary to the egotistical individualism of capitalism ruining humanity and our planet earth in many aspects....

  Let's say congratulations and pay tribute to the DPRK's society for the magnificently effort. To all of the Workers Party of Korea leaders, to all of ordinary workers and heroes - pioneers for the everyday not easy battle to achieve their goals. Under the Workers Party of Korea guidance all 80 - days campaign battle will be fulfilled and exceeded with all goals will be achieved.

  Let us support and cheer this wonderful initiative, to the fullest extent in order to achieve and to surpass honorable goals. To be glorious and shining victorious.

Enlarged Meeting of 21st Political Bureau of 7th Central Committee of WPK Held

 

Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- The enlarged meeting of the 21st Political Bureau of the 7th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) was held at the office building of the Party Central Committee on November 29.

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the WPK, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, was present at the meeting.

Present there were members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, and members and alternate members of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee.

Present there as observers were leading officials of major departments of the Party Central Committee, members of the Party Congress preparatory committee and other relevant personnel.

Supreme Leader of the Party, state and armed forces Kim Jong Un presided over the meeting upon authorization of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee.

The meeting discussed and studied as key agenda items the issue of hearing a report on the preparations for the 8th Congress of the WPK and taking corresponding measures, the issue of reorganizing a relevant department mechanism of the Party Central Committee to strengthen the field of the Party ideological work, to more thoroughly establish the Party's leadership system in relevant institutions and to intensify policy guidance and Party guidance over them and important issues of improving the Party guidance over economic work and carrying out immediate economic tasks. Then decisions were made on them.

The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK heard a report from the Party Congress preparatory committee on the preparations for the 8th Congress of the WPK including the summing up of the work of guidance institutions of Party organizations at all levels and elections, convention of Party meetings to elect delegates to the Party Congress, preparations of documents for the Party Congress, and preparations for political and cultural celebrations before and after the Party Congress. The Political Bureau referred to a series of deviations and major duties of the Congress preparatory committee and indicated the orientation for the issues brought up by the Congress preparatory committee.

The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK examined relevant issues for improving and strengthening the field of the Party ideological work as required by the developing revolution and approved on the organization mechanism issue.

The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK harshly criticized the economic guidance organs for failing to provide scientific guidance to fields under their charge under the subjective and objective environment and the prevailing conditions, and for failing to overcome subjectivism and formalism in their work. It stressed the need to put the operation and command for carrying out the Party's economic policies on a scientific basis and display great dedication and responsibility.

The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK discussed measures for important issues of carrying out immediate economic tasks for this year and adopted key decisions with unanimous approval. -0-

'The Famine That Never Was - the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in the ‘ Arduous March ‘ period-the myth of the famine in the DPRK exposed now published

 

Dr Dermot Hudson , chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, chairman of the UK Korean Friendship Association and President of the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK  has published a new book 'The Famine That Never Was - the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in the ‘ Arduous March ‘ period- the myth of the famine in the DPRK exposed '.

Dr Hudson had been planning to write the book for some time , in fact ever since 1996 when he visited the DPRK in June of that year and saw for himself that there was no famine in People's Korea.At the time the Western imperialist media published reports of a massive ‘famine ‘ in the country . Various claims have been made that up to 3 million people died and even today  opponents of the DPRK and Juche cry ‘but they are all starving  in north Korea . Such assertions are part of the mainstream media’s campaign of vilification of People’s Korea .

Was there really a famine in the DPRK in the 1990s , what is the truth ?

Surely such  a famine is not possible in People’s Korea, socialist country centred on the popular masses . In fact many famines have not been due to natural disasters but due to unequal and inequitable distribution of resources.            

     The myth of a severe famine and mass starvation in People’s Korea  is part of the propaganda effort by the Western imperialist mass media to demonise People’s Korea. Moreover it is a form of cynical post-modernist anti-communist propaganda based on the idea that ‘socialism has failed’ and also propaganda against the Juche idea . When the reports about the alleged ‘famine in the DPRK were circulated , some self-styled ‘ Marxist-Leninists ‘ said ‘ this shows that you cannot build socialism in a small country , only in a big country ‘ others claimed that that the DPRK needed to reject Juche and go for in for ‘reform’ and ‘opening up ‘ like a certain country .Some did not try to refute the propaganda against the DPRK but instead just said we should send aid to the DPRK

 Of course we do not deny that the DPRK faced a very difficult situation in the mid 1990s caused by external factors as well as some natural disasters , so the DPRK used the term 'arduous ‘march ‘ to refer to that period. However the imperialists exaggerated the difficulties of the DPRK to portray the DPRK as a very backward and underdeveloped country or as being on the verge of  collapse.

The book uses eyewitness accounts as well as population statistics to refute the myth of the 'famine ' as well as detailing the achievements of People's Korea in context.

The book is a must read for all friends and supporters of People's Korea as well as those who question the narratives of the mainstream media .

The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK (ASSPUK),the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea(BGSJI, the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification (BSCPRKP)  issued a joint statement on the anniversary of the successful Hwasong -15 test fire :

On  the 29th of November  it will be  the third anniversary of the successful test fire of the Hwasong 15 Intercontinental Ballistic Missile by the DPRK in the presence of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN .

   The Hwasong 15 test signified that the task of completing the state nuclear force of the DPRK had been completed and that the DPRK was entering a new stage of the revolution in which it could concentrate efforts on economic construction and improving people's living standards.

The Hwasong 15 launch  showed the advance of the DPRK in nuclear and missile technology was unstoppable no matter what sanctions the hostile forces imposed. Secondly , it demonstrated the correctness of the line of building the economy and nuclear force in parallel. Thirdly, it was testimony to the vitality f the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and the self-development first idea .  Fourthly, it was a manifestation of the validity and vitality of the Juche Idea and Songun Idea. Some  reactionaries and revisionists like to pour cold water on the Juche Idea but the success of the Hwasong 15  proved them wrong.

 Thanks to the completion of building the state nuclear force   the DPRK was able to hold the successful June 12th summit with the US president and sit down and negotiate with the US on equal terms. A great achievement .

  We salute the 3rd anniversary of the Hwasong 15 ICBM launch ,  great victory for independence , peace , progress and Juche-based socialism. Peace has been secured by the DPRK ICBMs !

The 80 Day campaign in People’s Korea is the sure way to victory !

                                                                          

Today the imperialists and their pathetic lackeys are slandering the 80 Day campaign in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) or People’s Korea .

At the 19th enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the 7th  Central Committee of the Workers Party  held on the 6th of October , the momentous decision was made to hold an 80 Day campaign to greet the historic 8th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea that will be held in January 2021 . It was stressed at the meeting that  ‘  It is our Party's consistent mode of struggle to bring about greater successes and miracles one after another through a determined successive offensive and usher in a new heyday of the revolution and it is our people's proud tradition of struggle to write a history of great change and work eye-opening miracles by waging an all-out campaign for the great socialist construction ahead of Party Congress.’

 Basically the 80 day campaign means that the Korean people will go all out and make every effort to complete the tasks and goals for building socialism successfully . The declaration of the 80 day campaign at the 19th meeting of the WPK Political Bureau is a militant one to build socialism in the spirit of self-reliance , not relying or depending on others , it is a declaration to break through the sanctions of the hostile forces.

                                               

                            

The 80 Day campaign  is within the tradition of speed battle campaigns in People’s Korea which have a long history . In the late 1950s President KIM IL SUNG initiated the Chollima movement to increase production and make innovations , indeed to go beyond that and sweep away everything backward in society . In the 1970s the  ‘70 day battle ‘was launched which produced outstanding results  ; industrial output value jumped by 70 percent in 2 months compared with the previous period and a bumper harvest was reaped . In the 1980s there was the 200 day campaign . Comrade KIM JONG IL in his talk to senior officials of the Workers Party of Korea in 1988 titled ‘ Let Us All Live And Struggle Like Heroes’ he said that ‘ Our Party and our people have assumed a heavy responsibility to our times and to history. We must keep the banner of revolution, the banner of socialism, flying, by foiling the enemy's frenzied attacks and effecting a steady advance in socialist construction. We must never weaken, but continue to maintain the high enthusiasm being displayed in the current 200-day campaign. We must follow this campaign with a 2,000-day campaign and then a 20,000-day campaign. This is the way to carry the revolutionary cause of Juche through to the end and to discharge the heavy responsibility we have assumed before the world revolution.’

In 2009 and 2016 , 200 day campaigns were waged with big success.

Speed battle campaigns are a distinctive feature of Juche-based , Korean style socialism . Instead of either trying to build socialism in a bureaucratic style or by a one-sided emphasis on material incentives , the Workers Party of Korea led by respected Marshal KIM JONG UN is building socialism by rousing the people to display their creativity and to go all out to build socialism .

   Now under the banner of the 80 day campaign and in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance  the Korean people are working miracles every day . Production has increased in the steel and mining industries . Literally thousands of new homes have sprung up . The DPRK is doing all this without outside aid , also under the pressure of blockade and sanctions  and at a time when the capitalist countries are seeing production falling due a recession and in the grip of the Covid 19 pandemic which has not affected People’s Korea.

I am very sure that the People’s Korea will win a great victory in the 80 Day campaign and wish the Korean people well in their efforts to self-reliantly build socialism.

Pyongyang Metro

 

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang Metro is one of the transport means familiar with the life of citizens in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK.

In recent years, a new type of subway train was manufactured with domestic technology and several metro stations were splendidly remodeled in keeping with the requirements of the new century.

The Pyongyang Metro is associated with the warm love of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un for the people.

The President initiated the construction of the metro and devoted his efforts to its designing and completion.

The Chairman worked heart and soul for the realization of making the metro artistic and earnestly called for running the metro in a more proper way to serve the convenience of citizens in traffic.

Cherishing their love for the people, the Supreme Leader set forth a task to manufacture the Korean-style subway train and settled all the problems arising in the development and production of it.

In November Juche 104 (2015), he got on the newly-manufactured subway train to learn in detail about its trial operation and gave highly important teachings for bettering the metro to meet the requirements of a highly civilized socialist nation and putting the metro management and operation on an IT and modern basis of higher level.

Later, he examined the miniatures of stations to be remodeled point by point. -0-

Commentary by UK KFA, ASSPUK and BGSJI on US imperialism's regime change programme for the DPRK

 The US imperialists have announced that they are upping the spending on ' human rights projects ' in the DPRK from $2.4 million to $3 million , a 25 per cent increase  , which is quite considerable .

It goes without saying that is a gross interference in the internal affairs of the DPRK and a violation of the sovereignty of the DPRK . It is very hypocritical of the US because they falsely accused the DPRK of interfering in the US elections but never produced a single crumb of evidence to support the claim .

Ironically the US state dept website carries news of the US cosying up with Saudi Arabia and Kuwait , issuing joint statements with them and praising these countries.

The so-called 'human rights projects ' that the US is sounding off about are nothing to with human rights at all , they are regime change projects  aimed at overthrowing the advanced , people-centred socialist system of People's Korea and turning the northern part of Korea into a US colony where the US transnational megacorporations will exploit the people .

Instead of spending millions of dollars funding regime change efforts in the DPRK  , the US should spend on eliminating poverty and Covid 19 . If the US is so interested in human rights projects there are plenty of human rights issues to be tackled in the USA.

Some reflections on agitation activities in People's Korea

                                    

 Reading a short article in Rodong Sinmun about housewives agitation activities in the DPRK made me reflect a bit about the nature of Korean style socialism and the difference between the DPRK and capitalist countries.

 During several visits to the DPRK my eye was caught by neatly arranged and colourful groups of women twirling red flags  in a number of places in Pyongyang such as in front of the Pyongyang Railway station which is near to the Koryo Hotel or in squares or street corners ..

These energetic and vigorous are there to encourage people to work hard and increase production . If I was a worker in the DPRK I would get a tremendous feeling of inspiration and even elation seeing the women twirling red flags both on my way to work and on the way back . This is the big difference between society in the DPRK and capitalist countries like Britain . In People's Korea work is a patriotic duty , an honour even . I remember a young woman guiding me declined the offer of a gift at the end of the visit ,saying it was her duty to work so she did not expect any reward . This contrasts with Britain were people work simply because they need the money , no other reason . No one goes to work feeling elated but instead watches the clock when they are in work . Many people here are stuck in boring jobs that they hate and only stay in them for fear of being unemployed .

The DPRK is also different to some past socialist countries that I visited or passed through such as Hungary , Czechoslovakia and GDR . I never saw any agitation teams in those countries like I did in the DPRK. This is the reason why socialism collapsed in the revisionist countries  but in People's Korea prospered. Juche-based , Korean style socialism is really superior !

 Recently, heavy rains and typhoons hit many regions in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in succession, inflicting serious damages and leaving many people homeless. However, rehabilitation started soon.

And there is something here that attracts the attention of the international community. 

It is the special relationship between the leader and his people, the like of which cannot be found elsewhere but only in the DPRK. 

On September 5, Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un sent an open letter to all the Workers’ Party of Korea members of the capital city Pyongyang from a typhoon-afflicted area on the country’s east coast, appealing to them to turn out in the rehabilitation projects.

 On the 6th alone, when his letter was first broadcast, more than 300 000 WPK members in the capital city volunteered. 

Among them were not only working people including young people and residents from all strata but honorary WPK members, who had already retired. 

Turning out as one to the leader’s call–this is the most important of the national traits of the country. 

When the coastal areas of North and South Hamgyong provinces were affected by disasters, major civilian construction forces and the Korean People’s Army units had already been deployed in the devastated areas of other provinces. At this critical situation he sent the letter to the WPK members in the capital city. Then, what was his purpose of sending the letter? 

It had two purposes. 

The first one was that the WPK should not leave the disaster victims in the open to celebrate October 10 that will mark the 75th founding anniversary of the WPK, and the second one was to consolidate the unity of the whole Party more firmly with affection and love with this as a momentum. This should not be considered ayear of calamity and disaster, but a year of struggle, progress and unity in which the country is achieving greater solidarity through a highly intense, arduous struggle–this is his intention.

Although trials and difficulties are severe, all the Korean people are vigorously advancing, firmly rallied around Kim Jong Un. 

This is the very image of the DPRK, the country of single-hearted unity.

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has not had a single Covid 19 case or death from Covid 19 . This shows the superiority of the Juche-based socialist system and the absolute correctness of the policies adopted by the DPRK in order to counter the inroads of the Pandemic . The measures taken by People’s Korea stand out in contrast to the total incompetence and idiocy of the establishment here . The DPRK closed its borders back in January . However in the UK although we are supposed to have a lock down , airports remain open bringing people from highly infected areas such as the US , Spain and Italy. Why haven't  they shut the border  ? What are they afraid of ?

    There is another strength of the DPRK that is not remarked on ;  namely the fact the country has been unable to survive and not being affected by the fact that its border has been closed for 11 months . Western capitalist countries are clearly scared of taking such a decisive measure and it is said that many would not survive or cope after 3 months .

  Moreover when the DPRK was hit by floods and typhoons in August and September causing a great deal of damage both to housing in rural areas and crops . The leadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea took a decision to reject outside aid because of the danger of bringing Covid 19 into the country . Thousands of new homes were built in the rural areas in the space of months and given to people free of charge . The speedy response of the DPRK in the spirit of self-reliance demolished the argument of the imperialists and revisionists that you cannot build socialism without outside aid .Indeed the DPRK ‘s experience proves that socialism is superior and can overcome both pandemics and natural disasters.

The Truth About the Yongphyong Island Incident of 2010.

                                                     

Soon it will be the 10th anniversary of the Yongphyong Island incident  sometimes referred to as the Yongphyong selling or Yongphyong bombardment .

The mainstream media and so-called specialist websites such as the CIA sponsored NKNews paint a false picture of what happened alleging that it was a ‘north Korean attack on south Korea ‘ . However the reverse is true , it was merely a self-defensive action and just retaliatory action by People’s Korea against south Korean puppet aggression .

The incident occurred within the region of the West Sea of Korea . The is an extremely tense area where many armed clashes and exchanges of fire have occurred largely because the south Korean puppets have tried to impose the phony ‘northern limit line ‘ which is not recognised by the DPRK and is invalid in international law .Yongphyong Island is actually within the territory of the DPRK.

What happened on the 23rd of November 2010 was that  the south Korean puppet armed forces were conducting the aggressive and provocative Hoguk war exercises despite denunciations by the DPRK . At 1300 hours Korean time  on the 23rd of November the south Korean side began shelling the DPRK causing damage to farmers houses (luckily the farmers were out at work so no casualties ) . The Korean People’s Army front command repeatedly contacted the south Korean side demanding they stop shelling the DPRK , also warning them that if they did not stop then retaliatory measures would be taken . South Korea ignored the warnings .

Enough was enough . The DPRK took decisive retaliatory action and fired back at south Korean military bases on Yongphyong Island .The south Korean puppets suffered some fatalities and went crying to the Americans like a scolded child but in the end the US did nothing as they did not want to provoke the DPRK .

On every 17th December, all of us recollect the immortal exploits of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il, who made great contributions to the world revolution and independence cause of mankind, and pay our highest respects to him with humble reverence.  

Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il developed the Juche Idea created by the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung into an immortal guiding ideology of an independent era. He attached the utmost importance to the military affairs and smashed the blackmailing, threats, sanctions and blockade of hostile forces while leading the overall national defense and the socialist cause relying on the Korean People’s Army as the main force.

Also holding high the independence, peace and friendship as fundamental basis of the foreign policy of the DPR Korea, he received lots of state and party heads, delegations and personalities and contributed greatly to the development of friendship and cooperative relations between the countries and added vitality to international efforts to build an independent new world.

He received 60700 odd pieces of gifts from the heads of parties, states and governments, personages from all strata of political and social circles and NGOs in 170 odd countries and compatriots in south Korea and overseas. Even after he passed away, figures from many countries respectfully present him decorations, medals, honorary titles and gifts.

The world independence cause, that had been carried by the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il, is succeeded by the Comrade Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, DPRK.

Comrade Kim Jong Un, a great defender of independence and justice, clearly delineated the tasks for building the independent world, were guaranteed the independence and equality of all nations and that is free from domination, subordination, aggression and intervention. He is safeguarding the peace and security of the Korean peninsula and the world and promoting vigorously the struggle for independence.

 In a few days time on the 24th of November it will be  24 years the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL,eternal general secretary of the Workers's Party of Korea visited Panmunjom on the  at a time when the US imperialists and world reactionaries were running wild to stifle Juche Korea the fortress of world socialism.            

   Moreover the visit of  comrade KIM JONG IL to Panmunjom where the DPRK and US stand in confrontation with one  another,basically the front-line between imperialism and socialism in the world shook the US imperialists rigid with fear.

   Panmunjom is a place that symbolises the tragic division of  Korea's by the US imperialists and great powers, it is also the place where the US imperialists acknowledged their defeat in the Korean war by signing at the armistice agreement  on the 27th of July 1953.It was known as one of the most dangerous flash points in the world as it is here where socialism and imperialism confront each other with arms.                           

    For the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL to visit Panmunjom was a courageous thing to do as the guns of the imperialists and puppets would be trained on him. However he had no fear of the enemy, moreover he demonstrated his desire which is also the desire of the entire Korean people north and south to end the division of Korea forthwith. He visited the monument to the autograph of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG, this was the signature on a document for the peaceful reunification of Korea. True Picture of Human Rights Peculiar to Japan

 It is a worthwhile dream of humanity to live in a society where genuine human rights are provided and everyone is given equal rights.

However, universally recognized democratic freedom and rights are not yet provided for the people in Japan, and Japan is thus turning into a human rights desert where undisguised and deep-rooted hatred against other nations and national chauvinism are rife.

Recently, an act of human rights violation against foreigners has been disclosed in Nagoya camp, throwing the world into a great shock. That is the incident whereby an Indonesian man died of no reason in five days of forced detention at the camp, after he had immigrated to Japan to seek “refugee status.”

Such incident is not the first in Japan. Since 1997, 19 “immigrants” held in detention have reportedly suffered the tragedy of committing suicide, being unable to withstand the nightmarish camp life.

The press commented that the reality in Japan ‐ where the foreign prisoners are subject to unsanitary food ration, nothing short of animal feed, and all sorts of contempt and maltreatment and dying of beating ‐ bears a resemblance to the death concentration camps of Nazi Germany.

Furthermore, the Japanese married to the foreigners in other countries including the United States and Europe are “enticing” their children away in disregard of the legal procedure of relevant countries. This is now becoming an international issue, and such cases reportedly amount to as many as 40,000 in the year 2005 alone.

In July, the European Union adopted a resolution by an absolute majority, indicating that Japan neglects to observe the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the “Hague Convention” (prohibiting parents from unilaterally taking away their children across borders), both having been ratified by Japan in 1994 and 2014 respectively, and that Japan also neglects to readjust its domestic laws.

The United Nations Human Rights Council has also pointed out that the government of Japan is ostracizing foreigners and infringing upon their human rights, and called for its rectification.

The judicial authorities of Japan recently passed a legal judgment, which backs the measure by its educational authorities to exclude the Korean children in Japan from a high school supporting system. This fact alone is a vivid mirror of the unfair legal system of Japan and its gloomy human rights picture.

Major media around the world are commenting that the international society is becoming unanimously vocal in denouncing the human rights violations of Japan – a self-seeking country giving no consideration to the international laws.

Shaped by and ingrained with national chauvinism and all other manifestations of immorality and depravity – this is the true picture of human rights peculiar to Japan.

Japan is not qualified to talk this or that on human rights of other countries – all of them being totally nonsense – in the international fora.

 The Association for the Study of Songun Politics and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea issued the following joint statement on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the victorious Yongphyong island shelling incident  ;

  10 years  ago on the 23rd of November 2010 the south Korean fascist puppets provoked the Yongphyong Island shelling by firing shells into the territory of the DPRK despite repeated warnings not to do so . This was done to try and enforce the illusory and bogus "northern limit line " , which is illegal and is rejected by the DPRK. The Korean People's Army (KPA), the revolutionary armed force of Juche, retaliated by shelling the source of the firing, Yongphyong island ,turning it into a sea of fire. Thus the south Korean puppets paid a high price for their stupidity The south Korean puppets and their US imperialist masters run about in fear and panic.The then puppet boss Lee Myung Bak and his cohorts taking refuge in an underground bunker. Indeed the south Korean puppets were like naughty children running home to their parents (in this case the US imperialists) crying because someone had chastised  them for wrongdoing.

 The south Korea side and mainstream media falsely claim that it was a 'provocation ' by the DPRK or 'an attack on south Korea' by the DPRK but it was nothing of the sort . It was a self-defensive and just retaliatory  action of the DPRK to counter the shelling of the territory of the DPRK. 

    The Yongphyong Island shelling was a   historic event that demonstrated the spirit, mettle and invincible might of the KPA, which has been trained into an a powerful Juche-orienated  army  of Mt Paektu under the care of Generalissimo KIM JONG IL and Marshal KIM JONG UN.  Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN skilfully commanded the KPA to win a great victory during the Yonphyong island incident. The south Korean authorities should draw a due lesson from the incident and act accordingly.

Let’s inherit the spirit of Chun Tae-il

The workers’ meetings were held to remember Chun Tae-il in Seoul and different parts of south Korea at the same time sponsored by the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions.

Chun was a working youth who cried “We eager to live like a human being” in demand of improvement of poor labor environment for the women workers. He burned himself to death.

The workers’ meeting to remember Chun is held in November every year.

Meeting of Members of Divisions of Party Members from Capital City Held

 

Pyongyang, November 21 (KCNA) -- A meeting of the members of the divisions of the Party members from the capital city was held at the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche, on Friday to make a report of loyalty to President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.

The heroes and heroines of the divisions who fully displayed their honor as lifeguards and special detachment of the Party Central Committee by successfully performing the combat duty given by the Party proudly entered the plaza with the report of proud victory and glory.

Taking the platform were Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK, Kim Yong Hwan, chairman of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, commanding officials and exemplary members of the divisions of Party members in the capital city and leading officials of the Party and administrative organs in Pyongyang City.

All the participants bowed to the portraits of smiling Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

Commander of the Division No.1 of Party Members of the Capital City Choe Hwi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and vice-chairman of the Party Central Committee, made a report of loyalty to Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

The reporter presented the report of victory and loyalty to Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, eternal leaders of our Party and people and sun of Juche, that the Party members from the capital city successfully carried out the militant duty given by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

He said that despite harsh conditions and environment, all the members of the divisions waged all-out charge of loyalty and fierce day and night campaign in a blitz war formula to build single-story houses and low-story apartments for hundreds of families and rehabilitate roads and rivers strong enough to stand any floods, out of pledge of faith to realize the noble plan of the Party Central Committee even at the cost of their lives.

He continued that the members of the divisions of the Party members from the capital city could fully display their might as the special detachment of the Party Central Committee as there were the great trust and loving care shown by Kim Jong Un as he visited the distant and dangerous disaster-hit areas before others, sent an open letter, sent militant encouragement and thanks to them from the high podium in the military parade for celebrating the 75th anniversary of the WPK and looked after the members of the divisions all the time.

Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and vice-chairman of the WPK Central Committee, made a congratulatory speech.

Upon authorization of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, Pak Pong Ju, in the name of the Party Central Committee, warmly congratulated all the members of the divisions who displayed honor of the divisions of elite Party members from the capital city and made the report of victory and loyalty to Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun.

The members of the divisions are vanguard fighters and heroes who recorded a proud page in the glorious history of our Party and showed in practice how our Party members have to devotedly defend the Party Central Committee, he stressed.

He called on all of them to strikingly demonstrate the spirit of continued innovation and advance at their revolutionary posts and thus further glorify their honor as the party members of the capital city most trusted by the Party Central Committee in the revolutionary advance toward the 8th Congress of the WPK.

DPRK Permanent Representative to UN Makes Statement on Reform of UN Security Council

                                         

 

The Permanent Representative of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK) to the United Nations delivered a statement at the Plenary Meeting of the 75th Session of the United Nations General Assembly on November 16 on the matter of reform of the UN Security Council.

The statement is as follows.

Mr. President,

The delegation of the DPRK would like, first of all, to commend your tremendous efforts for making this session successful.

The current meeting provides very important occasion for the Security Council to have its activities for maintaining international peace and security reviewed and evaluated by the entire UN member states.

Taking note of the Report of the UN Security Council and the results of the inter-governmental negotiations on its reform, the delegation of the DPRK wishes to state the following views on the agenda item.

First, the Security Council must strictly adhere to international justice and impartiality in its all activities.

Until now even after 75 years of the founding of the United Nations, the Security Council does not extricate itself from the stigma of an undemocratic organ devoid of impartiality.

As is well known, illegal armed invasions and air strikes against sovereign states resulting in civilian killings are left unquestioned, whereas the righteous self-defensive measures for safeguarding sovereignty and even the exploration of outer space for peaceful purposes are labeled and condemned as threats to international peace.

Ever more unscrupulous are the unauthorized acts of meddling in the issues including human rights, which go far beyond its competence.

The arbitrariness and high-handedness of certain countries abusing the Security Council for their political and military purposes with no regard to the UN Charter and international law should be thoroughly rejected and the practice of double standards and unfairness should no longer be tolerated.

Second, the Security Council should be reformed on the principle of ensuring full representation of the Non-Aligned and other developing countries.

The composition of the Security Council as it is now neither reflects today’s reality where the UN membership increased substantially since its inception, nor properly represents the Non-Aligned and other developing countries in particular.

Therefore, developing countries now making up the majority of the United Nations should be given not only non-permanent membership but also permanent membership of Security Council, so that they can raise their voices equally representing the international society.

This is badly needed also for ensuring impartiality and transparency in the Security Council activities.

Since it is not so easy to agree on the enlarged permanent membership due to serious divergence of views among member states, it is reasonable to go ahead with increasing the non-permanent membership.

Third, even in case the permanent membership is expanded, countries like Japan should never be permitted to become its membership.

Japan is a war criminal state that had inflicted immeasurable misfortunes and sufferings upon the humankind by invading many Asian countries including Korea and provoking the Pacific War in last century.

In Korea alone, Japan committed extra-large crime against humanity unprecedented in human history such as forcible abduction and drafting of 8.4 million, massacre of one million and sexual slavery of 200,000 for the Japanese army.

However, Japan as a war criminal state, has yet to make thorough apologies and reparations for its unheard-of A-class crime against humanity committed against the Korean people.

Such a country is seeking a permanent membership of the Security Council whose main responsibility is to maintain international peace and security. It is no more than a mockery of and insult to the United Nations.

If Japan is allowed to become a permanent member of the Security Council, it is crystal clear that it will only repeat its past stained with aggression and plunder, far from contributing to maintaining international peace and security, and there is also no guarantee that it will not bring about the tragedy of plunging the world into another war.

The delegation of the DPRK hopes that the deliberation of this agenda item will make active contribution to reforming the Security Council into a fair and accountable organ.

November 16 is a significant day marking the 50th anniversary of the Corrective Movement in Syria.

Through the Corrective Movement launched under the guidance of former President Hafez Al-Assad in 1970, the Syrian people provided a guarantee capable of opposing all kinds of domination and subordination and achieving an independent development of the country.

During the past 50 years, Syria, under the uplifted banner of anti-imperialism and independence, has waged a vigorous struggle to regain Arab territories occupied by Israel, including Golan.

Now under the leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad, the Syrian people are vigorously accelerating the development of economy and the build-up of national defence while resolutely fighting against the ceaseless challenges, threats and aggressive manoeuvres of hostile forces. They are also achieving many successes in the struggle to wipe out terrorists from vast areas of the country and rehabilitate the shattered economy as well as stabilize and improve the living standards of the people.

We are delighted at these successes as our own, and we extend our invariable support and encouragement to the Syrian people in their righteous struggle to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country and to achieve development and prosperity.

November 16 marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the Republic of Angola.

The DPRK and Angola are geologically far apart, as the former is situated at the eastern part of Asian continent and the latter at the southwestern part of African continent, yet the relations between the two countries are characterized by over-half-a-century-long history and tradition.

The DPRK has unreservedly supported and encouraged the Angolan people both materially and morally over decades in their national liberation struggle for putting an end to the colonial subjugation by the imperialists.

The Angolan people fought many years to drive out the colonialists, and the founding of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola in December 1956 became a turning point in their struggle for achieving national independence.

The great President Kim Il Sung personally met with the delegations of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola that visited our country several times including in September 1968 and in August 1971 and gave valuable instructions with regard to their struggle for national liberation.

Angola finally put an end to the five-hundred-plus-year-long colonial rule and achieved national independence on November 11, 1975, and it established diplomatic relations with the DPRK on November 16, 1975.

The great Chairman Kim Jong Il valued the long-standing relations of friendship with Angola and saw to it that the relations invariably strengthen and develop in the new century as well.

The DPRK and the Republic of Angola have developed mutual confidence and cooperation under the banner of Non-Alignment Movement and actively increased the friendly and cooperative relations in several fields including politics, economy, and culture.

It is an invariable stand of the DPRK government to expand and develop the historical and traditional relations of friendship and cooperation with Angola, which were formed across continents and oceans.

We will continue with our efforts for ceaselessly strengthening and developing the friendly and cooperative relations with Angola under the ideas of independence, peace and friendship in conformity with the requirements of the new era and the mutual benefits of the peoples of the two countries.

 On the 17th of December , in less than a month's time , it will be the 9th anniversary of the passing away of Chairman KIM JONG IL  we recall his great life and achievements we have resolved to form this committee to remember the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL who worked all his life for the revolution.

   The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL was the great successor to the cause of Juche initiated by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG .  Comrade KIM JONG IL was the great defender of independence and socialism who declared "Expect No Change From Me ' . He led the Korean people to build socialism despite the manic challenges of the imperialists .

  Comrade KIM JONG IL  made massive exploits in  systematizing  and enriching the great Juche Idea . He developed the Songun Idea and administered Songun politics ,the cutting edge of anti-imperialist struggle in the 21st century .

Resumption of Wednesday Rally

 

On Nov. 11, a Wednesday rally in demand of removal of THAAD was resumed in Soseng-ri, Songju County, North Gyeongsang Province where THAAD is deployed.

South Korean people from all walks of life hardened their resolve to launch a dynamic struggle to withdraw THAAD on the occasion of the 166th Wednesday rally in Soseong-ri.

                        

Let’s withdraw THAAD and make peace by ourselves, the representatives of the other committees raised their voices.

The performance improvement of THAAD　is only for defending the US mainland. There is no reason that THAAD deployed in the Korean Peninsula at all, a speaker said.

They demanded the removal of THAAD casting bean sacks to the model of THAAD.

The decision of postponement made by the Ministry of Defense implies the resumption of shooting exercise at any time. It is unacceptable. It must be withdrawn at once, the residents noted.

Unchanged Nature   115 years have passed since the Japanese imperialists fabricated the "Ulsa (1905) Five-point Treaty”. In order to force the "treaty" on the Korean feudal government, the heavily-armed Japanese army surrounded the royal palace ring upon ring and put Seoul under martial law in November, 1905. It was the most ferocious dispossession of national sovereignty unprecedented in the history of humanity. With conclusion of the treaty, Japan’s military occupation of Korea was legalized. The Korean Peninsula was reduced into a colony of Japan by fabrication of the "Jongmi Seven-Point Treaty" (1907), the "Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty" and compulsory winding-up of the Korean army. The treaty was an illegal document as it violated the principles and norms for concluding the treaty made without the king’s signature or the royal seal. 115 years ago, the Korean people wailed over the fact of Japan’s military occupation of Korea. It remains a bruise in the mind of the Korean people. 75 years have passed since Japan’s defeat. Nevertheless, it has not yet made sincere apology and compensation to the Korean nation while denying its crime-woven past. It is embellishing its past crimes and making desperate effort to become a military power and reinvade Korea through application of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere."    The Japanese politicians have offered tribute to the Yasukuni Shrine and are preoccupied with distortion of past history and reinvasion of Korea. They have spouted a string of rubbish on the past crimes and put pressure upon the government of other nation to remove the girl’s statue erected in the country. Japan is putting spurs to introduction and development of the latest weapons to be a military giant and sticking to  the missile defense system against north Korea. The "flag of rising sun shedding rays", a symbol of past war crimes, fluttered at an international weapon exhibition and a “preemptive attack” on the enemy base is stipulated in the text. The war exercises in the sea and air in every month show Japan’s madness of military strike on north Korea and reinvasion of the Korean Peninsula.
