KCNA Commentary Blasts S. Korean Authorities for Painting Themselves as Humanitarians

 Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- Recently the south Korean puppet regime has become evermore desperate in its racket of "eliminating the forces following the north" by deliberately linking the just activities of the democratic forces in south Korea with the DPRK under the pretexts of what it called plotted rebellion case, pro-north organization, etc.
    As regards the situation, the DPRK took a resolute measure of putting off the scheduled reunion of separated families and relatives and north-south talks for the resumption of tour of Mt. Kumgang until a normal atmosphere is created for dialogue and negotiations.
    Far from feeling responsibility for it, the south Korean puppet authorities are deteriorating the situation, talking such rubbish as "interference in internal affairs", a behavior of a guilty party filing the suit first.
    The spokesman for the North Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification (Pomminryon) in its statement on Thursday vehemently denounced the south Korean puppet regime for chilling the atmosphere of improvement in the north-south relations provided with much efforts and quelling the desire of the compatriots, a crime against nation, democracy and reunification.
    The fascist behavior of the south Korean conservative group to eliminate all the people calling for achieving reconciliation with compatriots and realizing unity of Koreans in the idea of "By our nation itself" can not be construed otherwise than its evil-minded intention to make showdown to the last with all the patriotic forces struggling for the reunification, the statement noted, and went on:
    It amounts to a total denial of the declaration agreed upon between the north and the south to incriminate the above-said forces for supporting the declaration and calling for its implementation.
    The south Korean puppet authorities should clarify whether they support the declaration or not before paying lip-service to "confidence-building".
    Any "confidence" away from respect for the declaration and its implementation admits of no argument.
    Never to be allowed is the revival of the fascist dark age, the period of "yusin" dictatorship, when anyone who merely talked about reunification was put behind the bars and executed.
    The traitorous regime, which turns away from reunification with its back turned on the nation, will never be able to escape severe punishment by all the compatriots and shameful ruins. -0-
