SWITZERLAND
We held a seminar about Kim Jong Il's classical work Giving Priority to Ideological Work Is Essential for Accomplishing Socialism. Members of the group as well as comrades from the DPRK Embassy took part.
We discussed in depth the importance of ideological work and education and clarified that eglecting this work, revisionism will emerge and the popular masses will be ideolically disarmed.
I took this work as an opportunity to explain the Juche idea to a sympathizer not so familiar with it until now.
We choose this work for our seminar also because it was exactly the 15th anniversary of it's publication - June 19, 1995.
A letter in the name of the meeting was sent to the great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il.
In the months of April, May and June the SJISG issued some joint statements together with the Swiss Korea Committee (KFA Switzerland) , i.e. about the 50th anniversary of the April 19 Popular Uprising in south Korea, the 30th anniversary of the Kwangju Popular Uprising, statements supporting the DPRK's just stand in the "Cheonan" ship sinking affair or hailing General Secretary Kim Jong Il's unofficial visit to China.
On April 12, the SJISG celebrated together with KFA Switzerland the 10th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration.
FINLAND
*The delegation of Korean Association of Social Scientists visited in Finland*
The delegation of the KASS led by mr. Pak Chang Yul and mr. Pak Myong Guk paid a visit to Finland between 13-16th of June, 2010. Hosted by the Finnish Society for the Study of the Juche Idea they had a numerous talks, meetings and visit during their stay.
*Meeting with the chairman of the Communist League*
On sunday the 13th they had a meetings with the representatives of the communist parties in Finland. They met mr. Kalevi Wahrman, the chairman of the Communist League and mr. Heikki Männikkö, the political secretary of the CL in Porvoo city. They discussed about the current issues of two countries and escpecially the current development in the DPRK. Mr. Kalevi Wahrman expressed his solidaric support for the Korean people in their struggle for
building socialism. Mr. Wahrman also noted the 46th anniversary of the General Secretary Kim Jong Il's career in working on the central committee of the Wokrers' Party of Korea. He said that following the instructions of the Great Leader President Kim Il Sung leader Kim Jong Il has devotetly worked for the happiness of the Korean people. Under the wice guidance of
the General Secretary Kim Jong Il the Korean people are firmly united under the Songun-banner of the Workers' Party of Korea, mr. Wahrman said.
The congratulatory message to General Secretary Kim Jong Il by the Communist League was adopted at the meeting.
*The seminar of the Juche Idea held*
On monday the 14th the Finnish Society for the Study of the Juche Idea held a seminar "*The independence and the Korean socialism in the 21st century*" in Helsinki. In his speech the chairman of the society mr. Juha Kieksi noted that the DPRK under the leadership of comrade Kim Jong Il is the true state of indpendence in politics, economy and in national defence and that this gives shining example for the world people that are struggeling for their own indpendence. "Today, the globalization (escpecially the economical one)
is stifeling the small nations and people's. The struggle is needed against the globalization, however the movement against it is divided and represents different ideologies and politics. The Juche Idea authored by the PresidentKim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il is an universal ideology of independence and can unite the world people in their struggle", he said.
Among the audience were also the leading ficures of all the communist parties and progressive organizations of Finland. The 30-head audience expressed their support for the Korean people's struggle for building socialism and condemned the US actions against the DPRK and other nations under the false flag of globalization.
There in the seminar were the photo exhibition "Toward the year 2012" which descripes the struggle for dedicating the 100th birth anniversary of the President Kim Il Sung for building the great, prosperous and powerful nation.
The congratulatory message to leader Kim Jong Il was adopted at the seminar.
*Meetings *
During their visit, the delegation of the KASS met and had a talks with
various circles of finnish political and academic life including between the
Chairman of the Communist Workers' Party mr. Hannu Harju, member of the
parliament of Finland mr. Unto Valpas, councellor of the international
department of the Parliament mr. Jaakko Hissa, Chairman of the
Finland-Korea- Society mr. Antti Siika-aho, the Chairman of the Democratic
Civic Association mr. Leo Partanen and the member of the Tampere City
council and the professor of the Social scienses mr. Jari Heinonen. In their
notes, they all expressed their solidaric support for the Korean people
escpecially now when the peninsula lives under the heavy pressure of the US
imperialism.
The delegation also visited numerous places and museums including the
Suomenlinna island in Helsinki and the Lenin Museum in Tampere.
