The Korean Friendship Association of the UK(KFA UK ) and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea held a meeting on the theme of “The Workers Party of Korea and the Reality of People’s Korea “ on October 18th at the Kings Cross Neighbourhood Centre ,
Attending the meeting were members of KFA UK and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea including officials from KFA UK Staffordshire branch and KFA UK West of England as well as the official delegate of KFA Cambodia who is currently staying in the UK plus members of political parties and anti-imperialist organisations .

Dr Dermot Hudson Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche and Chairman of KFA UK spoke about the 80th anniversary of the Workers Party of Korea saying in part “Since its foundation 80 years ago , originally as the Communist Party of North Korea , the WPK under the guidance of the great leaders President KIM IL SUNG , Chairman KIM JONG IL and Marshal KIM JONG UN , the WPK has victoriously led the Korean people towards socialism and to achieve great miracles , thereby building a great future for the country and the people.
Guided by Juche , the WPK has maintained robust independence in its activities . It worked out original lines and policies which conformed both to the realities of Korea and to the fundamental interests of the people . By establishing Juche and maintaining independence the WPK was able to avoid both Right and Left deviations that occurred in other countries”
Dr Hudson spoke about his recent visit to the DPRK for the 80th anniversary of the foundation of the Workers Party of Korea :”We saw that Pyongyang was a blaze of light and colour at night . The imperialists are lying when they say that there is no electricity in the DPRK . Rather than “everyone starving “ , we saw no homeless or beggars on the streets and the guide for another delegation said that people get free housing and food only costs 0.3 dollars per month , just compare that to the UK !!! No comment . Now the construction of the 4th stage of Hwasong Street is under way , I saw it with my own eyes . This rapid development is being carried out under conditions of intense sanctions by the imperialists as well as natural disasters and the DPRK’s border being closed for 4 years due to the global health crisis . This development is being achieved without outside help, ‘aid’ or foreign capital . It is a miracle of self-reliance and shows what a socialist country can do when it relies on its own resources and believes in itself”

The KFA UK organisation secretary and head of KFA UK West of England comrade Alan Bolon made a short contribution to the meeting in which he exposed false propaganda about the DPRK such as that there is no electricity in the DPRK or no WIFI .He stressed that from the Marxist world view every theory is proved by practice and you cannot find another country like People’s Korea.
The head of Staffordshire KFA UK and secretary general of the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea said the Workers Party of Korea had led the Korean people to victory and applied correct policies based on the Juche Idea . The Workers Party of Korea has upheld socialist principles .
Andy Brooks , general secretary of the New Communist Party said that President KIM IL SUNG and the Workers Party of Korea always had a refreshing and undogmatic attitude.
Participants in the meeting drew attention to the ‘digital colonialism’ of the imperialists and the brainwashing by imperialist social media .
It was decided to hold a picket of the BBC.
Refreshments including wagon wheels were served.
Literature from the DPRK including the works of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as well literature from KFA UK and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea was displayed
