Third Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security Held

 

Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- The Third Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security was held in Belarus on Oct. 28 and 29.

Present there were high-level delegates from 48 countries and 7 international bodies including foreign ministers of the DPRK, Belarus, Russia, Hungary and Myanmar.

Choe Son Hui, foreign minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, delivered a speech at the opening high-level session.

Choe Son Hui in her speech extended congratulations on the successful opening of the Third Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, and said that the current conference is a political gathering of great significance in building partnership among countries and nations in Eurasia and promoting the creation of a secure, fair and just multi-polar world.

She referred to the fact that the world’s biggest war machine called NATO incites an extreme anti-Russia confrontation hysteria and brings dark clouds of war over the entire Europe in the western part of Eurasia and the U.S.-led tripartite military alliance of U.S., Japan and ROK starts its full-scale operation to gravely threaten the security environment of the region in the eastern part of Eurasia.

Today the global security, to say nothing of Eurasia, is badly shaken to the core, she said, adding that it is attributable to high-handed, arbitrary and double-dealing practices of the U.S. and its followers as they openly launch military invasion, interference in internal affairs and war schemes against sovereign states in a futile attempt to sustain their hegemonic unipolar world.

In recent years, various kinds of bilateral and multilateral war games against the DPRK take place simultaneously and continue without any gap in time and space, involving a scenario of actual use of nuclear weapons and unprecedented war crisis is being created, she said, adding: What is more serious is that NATO that is literally responsible for the security in the North Atlantic, is becoming all the more unspoken in its moves to start military intervention in the Korean peninsula and the Asia Pacific and the emergence of the second version of NATO is beginning to take shape in the Eastern hemisphere.

There is not a single country or nation that would willingly embrace other’s pressure and domination and it is the shared desire as much as it is the independent right of all sovereign states to grow their own strength and decide on their own course of development, she said, stressing that the DPRK will never stop even for one moment nor will it make the slightest concession in the road of bolstering-up self-defence capabilities for guaranteeing the dignity, prestige and the right to development and security interest of the state, and achieving peace in the region and the rest of the world.

She said that the joint statement reflecting the unanimous desire and aspiration of mankind for independence, justice and peace is of profound value in strengthening unity and collaboration among nations in the region and in safeguarding the peaceful and stable environment globally.

The DPRK government remains consistent in the stand to develop good neighbourly and friendly relations with all countries of the world championing justice and independence and fulfil the responsibility for an equality-based multi-polar world and global peace and security, she said.

Statement of the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea on the 31st anniversary of the publication of "Socialism is A Science "

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI ) issued a statement on the 31st anniversary of the publication of "Socialism Is A Science " by the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL 

  On the 1st of November it will be 31 years  since the  publication of the work "Socialism Is A Science " by  the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL . It can be said without any hint of exaggeration nor fear of contradiction that this was the most important piece of writing on socialism published in the last part of the 20th century and that the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL was the only leader of a socialist country and leader in the international communist movement to tackle the question of defending and expounding the scientific nature of socialism and its inevitability. Marx, Engels and Lenin had turned socialism from a Utopian dream into a science. However towards during the late 1980s and early 1990s a series of abnormal events took place namely the frustration of socialism in a number of countries owing to the conspiracy and intrigue of the modern revisionists the agents of imperialism with the socialist camp and international communist movement. As the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL wrote that :

"The crumbling of socialism in various countries does not mean the failure of socialism as science but the bankruptcy of opportunism which has corrupted socialism. Although socialism is temporarily experiencing a heartrending setback because of opportunism, it will without fail be revived and win ultimate victory for its scientific accuracy and truth".

This was a timely rebuff to the imperialists and reactionaries who taking advantage of the abnormal developments  made extremely  false and slanderous assertions  that 'socialism had failed' and socialism was in some way "unscientific " or 'infeasible'.

  The work was an unparalleled inspiration to the world revolutionary peoples looking for answer in the difficult international situation caused by the frustration of socialism in some countries . It was a real shot in the arm, a tonic for the international communist movement. The work fully proves and reasserts the scientific nature of socialism .

     Comrade KIM JONG IL  smashes sophistries about 'class co-operation ' advocated by reformists and revisionists  explaining that : 

"The exploiter class and their stooges put forward the "theory of class cooperation" and tried to block the struggle of the exploited working masses against exploitation and oppression. Within the communist movement, reformists and revisionists demanded "class cooperation" and seriously harmed the revolutionary movement, Today, traitors to socialism are also clamoring for a return to capitalism, harboring illusions about capitalism and expecting "aid" and "cooperation" from the imperialists. History shows that to expect "good will" or "class cooperation" from the exploiter class is to make a mess of the revolution."

This was a telling blow to the theories collaborating with imperialism and given up class struggle. In some capitalist countries reformists and traitors advocated  "social partnership "  , compromise with the exploiting class but the teachings of comrade KIM JONG IL in "Socialism In A Science "  demonstrates that such ideas are fallacious . All those who aspire for socialism and who are active in the labour movement should take to heart this teaching of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL and uphold like a red torch. Today under the leadership of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN the DPRK is upholding self-reliance and self-development.

         Moreover in the work "Socialism Is A Science  " the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL showed that socialism is the banner of independence for the popular masses and the means for the popular masses including the working class to realise their independence, to become masters of their destiny. Thus leader KIM JONG IL defined socialism in a fresh way  free from any dogmatic interpretations.

"Socialism Is A Science " proved the accuracy and validity of the socialist idea. It fully demonstrated the scientific nature of socialism and inevitability of its victory . At the time its publication it served a beacon or lighthouse for the socialist ,communists and progressives of the world groping in the darkness caused by the frustration of socialism . "Socialism Is A Science " was the second "Communist Manifesto". It showed the true genius of the  comrade KIM JONG IL as a great theorist and ideologist .

There is no doubt that "Socialism Is A Science " is as relevant and valid today as it was 31years ago. It charts the way ahead for the world socialist movement . Without hesitation we recommend a deep study of this work to the progressive and revolutionary people of the UK and the world,

Refuting the Big Slander Against People’s Korea by the American ultra-leftists and dogmatists

 

Recently the US based ultra leftist website “Politsturm “ posted an article on it's Youtube channel titled “ The DPRK leadership gained access to new technologies and Russian markets in exchange for the participation of North Korean troops on Russia's side.”

This article  is basically repeating imperialist talking points about the DPRK’s relationship with the Russian Federation .  The DPRK’s international prestige has risen greatly in the past 3 or 4 years and the DPRK recently successfully celebrated the 80th anniversary of the foundation of the Workers Party of Korea . The imperialists are desperately trying to pour cold water on this and ultra leftists like Politsturm are helping them .

The article is liberally peppered with references to imperialist and south Korea puppet sources . It seems that the ‘true believers’ of Politsturm for whom the DPRK is not pure enough are happy to resort to using imperialist and bourgeois sources !

The DPRK did not gain “ access to new technologies “ in exchange for “ participation of North Korean troops on Russia’s side “ .  Firstly , the DPRK ‘s ICBM programme,its nuclear programme , and other weaponry are products of self-reliance and the DPRK’s Juche-based technology. Politsturm is just repeating the false narrative of the imperialists that the DPRK cannot make anything itself and that it is dependent on other countries . In fact the DPRK has an independent national economy capable of making anything from a wristwatch to a nuclear weapon or ICBM . Secondly , the participation of troops from the Korean People’s Army in the operation to liberate Kursk was according to the DPRK-Russian Treaty of 2024 which contained a clause that each side that can ask the other for military assistance if the other is attacked . It is about mutual assistance not the transfer of technology .Thirdly , it gave the KPA valuable combat experience in fighting US imperialist backed troops in a situation of real war ,

Politsturm betray themselves as influenced by imperialist and NATO propaganda when they refer to a “ Ukrainian counter-offensive “  What ??? . Ukraine is a neo-nazi state which tried to invade the Kursk region of the Russian Federation .Basically the DPRK by sending troops did its bit in the struggle against international fascism . Previously the KPA participated in operations in Vietnam during the Vietnam war , in Egypt and Syria in 1973 and assisted Angola and Zimbabwe .

Will Politsturm also criticise the DPRK for assisting the United Arab Republic and Syria on the grounds that these were “non-socialist states “ or arguably less socialist states ?

If you take the line of Politsturm then it would have been wrong for Stalin to have allied the USSR with imperialist Britain and imperialist USA(which were the biggest imperialist powers at the time )  during the Second World War and also wrong for the USSR to have concluded the Non Aggression pact with Nazi Germany . This is the logic of Politsturm !

Politsturm make a lot out of the presence of a delegation of the United Russia Party but there was also a delegation of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation . Some communists were also present as members of Juche Idea Study delegations and friendship delegations , for example an official of the All Union Communist Party of Bolshevik (Nina Andreeva ) of Belarus participated in the celebrations as a delegate of a Juche Idea Study group .

The Politsturm article ignores the complexities of the DPRK international relations . It is true that relations between the DPRK and Russia are flourishing and becoming closer but only 8 years ago the Russian Federation voted for sanctions against the DPRK in the UN Security Council . However , in recent years Russia itself has become a target of imperialism . It is natural for ant-imperialist states to co-operate and make common cause! . Surely it is a victory for the DPRK that has broken through the diplomatic blockade and established good relations with its neighbouring countries .

The DPRK is not dependent on China as Polisturm asserts.The DPRK economy has become more self-reliant since the 1990s . I can remember visiting the DPRK in the 1990s and going around the shops  in those days many of the goods on the shelves were produced in China but nowadays the shops in the DPRK are stocked with domestically sourced products . A member of the Korean Friendship Association who studied on a course at KIM IL SUNG University and lived in the DPRK for 3 months said it was possible to live on DPRK products only for the whole 3 months . Moreover the DPRK this year (2020) shut its border in January but has survived without a problem for nearly 4 years . This fact alone dashes the argument that ‘the DPRK couldn’t survive without China ‘ to shreds. Please refer to the following

Time does not permit a full refutation of the nonsense of Politsturm but just one more thing (as the late Lt Columbo would say ) ; unbelievably the ultra-leftists of Polistrum simultaneously attack the DPRK for being “dependent “ on Russia and China  but ‘isolationist “ at the same time . It cannot be both ! Polistrum attack the new line of the DPRK on abandoning reunification even going as far to moan about cutting roads to south Korea and the demolition of the Reunification monument . These are just and revolutionary measures to protect Juche-based socialism and prevent the puppet ROK from annexing the DPRK  ! The parade of the armed forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the culmination of the celebrations of the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea, is about to begin.

First of all, I warmly welcome the guests from all walks of life and our dear friends from different countries invited to this grand event.

I extend my heartfelt thanks and congratulations to all the people across the country who have devoted their precious sweat of creation and labour and their sincerity to this October day of glory.

I also express my deep gratitude to the parties and governments of different countries and international democratic organizations for their sincere congratulations to our Party, government and people on the occasion of the significant holiday.

As I witness the dignity of the soldiers in parade and the warm respect emanating from their eyes on this grand occasion which our army arranged in celebration of the founding anniversary of the Party, I am wrapped in a solemn feeling at the thought of the officers and soldiers of our army who have always taken the lead in the journey made by the WPK with absolute loyalty and matchless bravery.

Our Party has led the Korean revolution for the last 80 years and reached the present day of glory. As we review its history, we feel infinite dignity and pride in having the loyal armed forces that can share the destiny with the Party.

Our army is the priceless creation and brilliant embodiment of our Party's ardent desire and firm will to safeguard and exalt the truthfulness of its ideals and the dignity of its people generation after generation.

Our Party regarded it as its sacred duty to take entire responsibility for the destiny and future of the country and the people; proceeding from this, we founded an army before the state, identified the character and mission of the army in reflection of its original ideals and spirit, and built regular revolutionary armed forces with the pioneer generation of the cause of party building as their backbone.

This led to the beginning of the long history of army building, which has advanced along with the leadership history of our Party, and also the beginning of the glorious history of our cause, which has been firmly supported by strong arms.

As the history records, each stage of victory guided by our Party is adorned with sacred exploits of loyalty and patriotism of our army which left traces of self-sacrifice and feats before others.

The mission of the army in our revolution under unique circumstances was by no means simple.

The distinguished role of the revolutionary armed forces was consolidated and matured in the struggle to defend the sovereignty of our state and its right to development and to safeguard the destiny and future of the people. It always served as the immutable fulcrum in writing a righteous history in line with the will of the Party and a powerful driving force propelling the Korean revolution straight ahead in the same direction indicated by the Party.

These are incomparable, outstanding exploits of our army that it has defended the Party and the lifeline of the revolutionary cause through a bloody struggle in the grim days when our sovereignty and the destiny of the revolution mattered on every step we took.

Along with the change of history, our army's combat capabilities have been upgraded day by day, but the staunch spirit of defending the Party Central Committee at the cost of life has remained unchanged; our army has always maintained its unique tradition of resolutely supporting the Party's cause in the forefront of pioneering and advance.

Our army, which has never been free from its heavy responsibility of containing the worst threat of aggression from the outset of its founding, left the traces of great feats, which no one could replace, on the key stages of reconstruction and socialist construction. This fact highlights the intrinsic nature and unique image of our army, which responds to the call of the Party absolutely and unconditionally.

Our people remember that the precious gains and monumental edifices attesting to the great history of socialist Korea and symbolizing the dignity and honour of our state are associated with the noble blood and sweat and heavier self-sacrifice of the revolutionary army than anyone else, for which our people are eternally thankful generation after generation.

No other group in our country can match the army in terms of such records and achievements.

We can say with credit that the People's Army was the staunch guard who defended the Party in each and every stage of our revolution and the powerful vanguard who supported the Party's leadership most actively throughout the history of our Party when every moment of implementation of the socialist cause was a hand-to-hand fight against counter-revolution and represented the stirring period of great transformation and creation.

What we can say with more confidence now is that the staunch fighting spirit of our army in support of the Party's cause is being displayed on an increasingly higher level with each passing day.

The new era of transformation, which can be called a watershed in the history of struggle of our Party, is a sacred age, i.e., the crystallization of the revolutionary traits, mass heroism and do-or-die fighting spirit of our army which has responded to the Party's decision only with perfect execution, taking it as an absolute truth and supreme order.

In recent years alone, we cannot think of a single major theatre of campaign apart from the involvement of the service personnel of the People's Army, ranging from the acute confrontation with the enemy, disaster relief projects to grand construction projects encompassing the capital and provincial areas. And in their execution the service personnel have never failed to live up to the expectations of the Party and the people.

Whenever we witness the miraculous results brought about by the officers and soldiers of our army, I feel a surge of strong emotion.

And what words can possibly describe such painstaking efforts and endeavours of theirs devoted to such feats of creation and struggle?

For me and for our Party, the army was a source of strength in the true sense of the word.

On the strength of indomitable spirit and invincible might, the army has always added doubled strength to our Party's efforts to overcome difficulties and bring earlier a bright future.

Our Party is always grateful to and proud of the army, for performing irreplaceable feats by unstintingly devoting their priceless blood and sweat. And inspired by its self-sacrificing spirit and heroic struggle, our Party is leading the people along the road to comprehensive development of socialism with confidence.

The heroic fighting spirit displayed, and the victory achieved, by our revolutionary armed forces on the foreign battlefields for international justice and genuine peace, demonstrated the ideological and spiritual perfection of our army which has grown powerful true to the intention and will of the Party.

The WPK will always remain powerful and its future forever bright as the reliable officers and soldiers are sacrificing all their dreams and youth to the country and the people–the iron-willed troops that are identical in the spirit of absolute service–are stoutly supporting our Party as unshakable pillars despite their difference in ranks.

Press Statement on Talks of Foreign Ministers of DPRK and Belarus

 

Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- A press statement on the talks between the foreign ministers of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Republic of Belarus was released on October 29.

The press statement is as follows:

Talks between Choe Son Hui, foreign minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Maxim Ryzhenkov, foreign minister of the Republic of Belarus, were held in Minsk on Oct. 29.

At the talks both sides discussed the issues of developing the DPRK-Belarus relations with a long tradition and history of friendship in an all-round way in conformity with the common interests of the peoples of the two countries on the principle of respect for sovereignty, equality and mutual benefit and of further strengthening the efforts for safeguarding the common interests in the international arena, and reached a consensus of views. -0-

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Visits Kangdong County Hospital Nearing Completion

Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, visited the Kangdong County Hospital which is nearing completion on Oct. 30.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was accompanied by Jo Yong Won, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK.

Going round various places of the hospital including the underground parking lot, inpatient ward, operating room and doctors' room, he learned in detail about the construction.

He gave instruction to assemble and install in a responsible manner the medical equipment within November as the overall construction of the hospital has been completed at a highly qualitative level and indicated various tasks for the preparations for operating the hospital.

He underlined the need to disseminate the excellent experience gained in the construction of the hospital and exemplary creation spirit displayed in it to the regional construction units at all levels without delay in order to vigorously launch the full-scale project of public health modernization across the country at the highest qualitative level.

As the construction of hospitals, which is an ensemble of the latest medical technology and building techniques, is the sphere that requires higher level of functionality and proficiency than any other construction project, it presents itself as a primary task to build up the regional construction forces capable of pushing ahead with the huge projects for public health rejuvenation in order to accelerate its implementation on a scientific basis in a far-sighted way, he said.

Protecting the people's lives and promoting their health are the most important state affairs than any other one and therefore, the WPK's policy for the healthcare revolution should be steadily carried out in an expanded and intensified way, he stressed.

Our important goal of modernizing the public health sector from now is to build modern hospitals like the Kangdong County Hospital in 20 cities and counties without fail every year, he said, adding that a decisive measure should be taken to expand the forces for building the public health facilities in the country.

He said that the forthcoming plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee will examine the issue of establishing modern hospitals like the Kangdong County Hospital in the districts of Pyongyang.

He set forth the important tasks for the expansion and development of the healthcare revolution, including the issue of standardizing and optimizing the design of general hospital, special hospital and other hospitals in architectural and health and hygienic aspects according to their classes and categories in the building of hospitals and the issue of making a foresighted calculation of the conditions for supplying various kinds of materials as the medical service facilities will be densely stationed across the country. He also pointed out the backwardness and irrationality of the national system of training experts in the public health sector, and instructed to reexamine the issue of training experts in the medical sector and take realistic and substantial strong measures to readjust it.

The construction of the Kangdong County Hospital, the starting point of the development of the public health sector in the struggle for regional rejuvenation this year, will soon reach a successful result, he said, adding that the reality in which groundbreaking leads to inauguration in the same year is a clear proof of the validity and vitality of the Party's policy and an epitome showing the remarkable speed of the advance of socialist Korea.

‘Why People’s Korea is right to reject ‘reunification ‘ and fake peace ‘(article first published in "People's Korea Today " ) by Dermot Hudson

The DPRK and Workers Party of Korea changed its policy on reunification at the 9th plenary meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea in December 2023 .This apparently has not been fully understood by some .

Recently respected Marshal KIM JONG UN addressed the 13th session of the 14th term Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK on the 21st of September last . His speech gave a further in depth clarification of the policy of the DPRK on reunification and its stance towards the Republic of Korea (ROK) also known as south Korea .

Reunification is actually impossible because as respected Marshal KIM JONG UN pointed out  “The ROK is a deformed entity with hemiplegia and a colonial tributary whose all fields have been Americanized, a foreign country that has thoroughly become heterogeneous.

It is a matter of course that as water and fire can never fuse into one, the independent politics and the sycophantic and treacherous politics cannot concur, the independent defence and the subordinate defence cannot merge with each other, the self-reliant economy and the colonial contract economy cannot combine, and the socialist culture and the Yankee culture cannot go together."

Indeed  it is impossible to merge the DPRK's independent , Juche -based self-reliant socialist system with the neo-colonial dependent corrupt capitalist system in the south.

The ROK’s constitution states that the territory of the ROK covers the entire Korean peninsula . Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN said that “ Though government has changed more than ten times and the Constitution undergone revision nine times in the ROK so far, nothing has changed in the territory-related article of the Constitution, which is aimed at invading and annexing the DPRK. And although the National Security Law has been revised several times, the article concentratedly reflecting hostility towards the DPRK has not undergone even the slightest revision”

The cost to the people of the DPRK if so-called "reunification “ was imposed on them would be beyond calculation ; it would mean the end of the socialist system resulting in mass unemployment , poverty , homelessness and all sorts of social ills . Therefore the DPRK is right to reject this .

The DPRK regards the ROK as an enemy and the most hostile state . This is based on reality because ever since it has existed the ROK has schemed to undermine the DPRK and overthrow the socialist system.

Denuclearisation of the DPRK means the unilateral disarmament of the DPRK . Really denuclearisation is just a code word for the overthrow of the socialist system .

  The Workers' Party of Korea is writing the sacred history of making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people, regarding the people-first principle as its political ideal.

  The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK, advanced the slogans "Everything for the people and everything by relying on them!" and "Let the whole Party make selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the great people!" on several occasions and made all the Party organizations and officials regard them as their unbreakable creed in the work and life.

  He ensured that the people-first principle was applied to all the lines and policies of the WPK and implemented without fail.

  As intended by him, lines and policies for the people have been drawn up, including the policy on building up baby homes, orphanages and old people's homes well across the country and taking care of the children and old people who have no one to look after with state responsibility, the policy on supplying the children throughout the country with dairy products and other nourishing foods on a regular basis, the policy on providing the pupils and students with a complete set of new homemade school uniforms, things, bags and shoes and the policy on building modern public health facilities, leisure complexes and grain management facilities in parallel with the construction of modern rural houses and regional-industry factories, and they are put into practice.

  Kim Jong Un ensures that the revolutionary party climate of making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people is more thoroughly established in the whole Party and continues to make selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people.

  He has the noble view of life that there is nothing more to desire though he would be scattered like the grains of sand on the road of making the people happy. He survived life-or-death crises in the van to defend the destiny of the people; he drove his car on the muddy road to relieve the people of their pain from disaster; he found himself on the dangerous road with wet subgrade which might subside at any time; he looked round the dangerous flooded area aboard a rubber boat.

  In order to eradicate the centuries-old backwardness of the countryside and the laggardness of regions as soon as possible and make all people lead an affluent and civilized life, he makes great efforts to accomplish the great cause of regional rejuvenation while visiting different construction sites.

  At the 30th Enlarged Meeting of the Secretariat of the Eighth Party Central Committee held at the end of January 2025, Kim Jong Un stressed that this year should be set as a year for establishing a revolutionary Party climate and strengthening the whole Party, in order to dynamically open up a new stage of building a ruling party that is strong in discipline and full of a revolutionary climate.

  It is the invariable revolutionary climate of the WPK to make selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people.

In the centre of the capital city Pyongyang which is being transformed into a more gorgeous city in the new era of prosperous socialism sit buildings that everyone wants to visit and looks around with amazement.

At the picturesque bank of River Taedong, here in the best place stand luxurious buildings. They are neither major government buildings nor grand commercial buildings. They are Pyongyang Baby Home and Pyongyang Children’s Home where parentless children enjoy happiness to the full without worrying anything.

In the past people used to imagine a dingy, discolored and old-fashioned buildings on the outskirts of the city when they think of an orphanage. But these buildings totally changed their outdated conceptions. What is more amazing is that the buildings were built under the direct leadership of the head of the state. This is an epical picture unprecedented in the history.

11 years ago, on October 25, 2014, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited Pyongyang Baby Home and Pyongyang Children’s Home. He looked around every corner of the buildings including bedrooms, play and dining rooms for long hours. He also gave meticulous teachings about the provision of all necessary conditions for the life and education of parentless children.

He paid attention even to the most trifling matters that is only possible to be given with parental love. He said that the floor in the entrance hall should be covered with rubber sheets to make no children get wounded and that the room temperature should be maintained well so that the children can grow up healthy.

He also gave valuable instructions that we should train parentless children to be the pillars of the country possessed of sound moral traits and high level of cultural attainment by putting in much effort in educating each of them from their childhood.

Even in the countries boasting of huge wealth and modern civilization, the relief of orphans who are suffering from hunger, poverty and disease is generally accepted as a knotty problem and it is a fait accompli that the plan for the future prospects of the orphans cannot be put on the table.

However, in the DPRK, the matter of training and educating parentless children is regarded as the most pivotal work of the state and they are growing up sound as the future able workers of the country.

Thanks to the parental love and care of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who loves and values our children most, the state takes full responsibility for bringing up the children, providing dairy products to all the children across the country and new school uniforms and school things every season. Witnessing such astonishing reality of our socialist motherland, many foreigners unanimously praise that Korea is the paradise for children.

Indeed, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un takes care of all the children across the country and gives promise of their happy laughter and bright future with great passion and love.

Our children who hold in high esteem respected Comrade Kim Jong Un as the father of the large socialist family and enjoy all the happiness thanks to him will grow up into the reliable pillars and talents of the country so as to demonstrate our country to the whole world as powerful Korea of Juche.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) Pyongyang General Hospital was inaugurated thanks to the warm love for the people cherished by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who makes untiring and devoted efforts for the rights and interests, good health and longevity, and for the full and beautiful life of our people.

Since long ago, Comrade Kim Jong Un had in his mind a plan to build a top-class general hospital that would play a pivotal function and role in the health sector of the country and also provide our people with excellent environment and advanced service regarding their medical treatment, and has made relevant preparations for the past several years.

Comrade Kim Jong Un gave meticulous instructions to relevant officials to make sure that everything about the hospital, starting from the architectural design, every component, space and the environment meets all the standards of modern architecture and also has a soothing effect on patients both mentally and psychologically. He also saw to it that specialized equipment and facilities for different systems were all in place to ensure adequate sanitation in the hospital’s public health activities, and scientific accuracy and smoothness in its medical services.

He visited the hospital twice this year, in February and in September and said to the following effect: Public health serves as the criteria for the warmth of a country’s political climate, level of its civilization and its citizens’ quality of life as well as the soil for growing the power of life and a reliable index of national strength. Even the slightest inattention shouldn’t be allowed regarding the preparation for its operation so that the hospital, after its inauguration, would fulfill its intrinsic mission and role in treating and recovering of our people. All medical workers and nurses should be well-trained to be possessed not only of professional qualifications but also of warm human love and be devoted to the treatment of patients.

Indeed, thanks to the devoted efforts of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for people，this land is witnessing a new history of socialist public health development to the wonder of the world in the current century as he gives equal weight to the building of the country’s public health capacity with the building up of national defence capabilities meant for safeguarding the life safety of our people from the threat of war, saying that the validity of the policies of the Workers’ Party of Korea lies in their indisputable people-centred character.

"Apartment of Families with Many Children" in Rimhung Street

  Rimhung Street is a large architectural group formed through the second-stage construction of the Hwasong area thanks to the grand plan and tough executive ability of the Workers' Party of Korea to change the capital city of Pyongyang into an ideal city of the people and the greatest city in the world.

  There is an apartment with a special name in the street.

  It is Block No. 7-21 in Kumrung-dong No. 2 which is called a blessed apartment, "apartment of families with many children" as it is well-known for having a lot of families with many children.

  Those families living in the block have their own prides.

  Talking about the prides, people mention the names of Ri Kwang Hui and Ri Ok Son living at Flat No. 4 on the 19th floor and Flat No. 2 on the 23rd floor respectively.

  It is because Ri Kwang Hui, mother of five children, and Ri Ok Son, mother of triplets, realized their ardent wishes all the Korean people desire.

  They took part in the Fifth National Conference of Mothers held two years ago and had the honour of having a picture taken with the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

  Ri Ok Son said she only gave birth to the children but they are growing at the state expense, and continued:

  "When I heard I had triplets, I worried about how to bring them up.

  Nurses took care of my children at the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital.

  I only gave birth to them.

  At present, my children are growing at the Pyongyang Baby Home and my husband and I are living here in the three-room flat."

  People care about the housing problem.

  Those families with many children in this village were provided with new flats in Rimhung Street free of charge as they have many children.

  Ri Ok Suk living at Flat No. 3 on the 15th floor said this is also a pride of those families with many children living at the new flats in Rimhung Street, and continued

  "Originally, we lived in Jonjin-dong of Rangnang District. The rooms were small but convenient to live.

  As the children grew up, however, our house seemed to be narrower and we felt envy at new houses.

  The state provided us with this three-room flat as ours is a family with many children. I could hardly sleep in the evening when we received the permit for the use of house.

  My children, too, didn't sleep all night, wondering if it is dream or not.

  It was unbelievable."

  They proudly said that as they have many children, they were provided with houses, they can receive medical services preferentially, their children were preferentially recommended to vocational schools and people help them with their living.

  The residents say in unison that theirs has become a well-known blessed apartment with a lot of prides in the broad Rimhung Street under the care of the grateful socialist system.

 

DPRK Missile Administration Conducts Test-fire of Sea-to-Surface Strategic Cruise Missiles

 

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The Missile Administration of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea conducted a test-fire of sea-to-surface strategic cruise missiles in the West Sea of Korea on October 28.

Pak Jong Chon, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Jong Sik, member of the Central Military Commission and first vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, Jang Chang Ha, general director of the Missile Administration of the DPRK, the vice commander of Armaments of the Navy of the Korean People's Army and engineers of the shipboard weapon systems oversaw the test-fire.

The cruise missiles, improved for the launch from the ship, were fired vertically and flew for over 7 800 seconds along the preset route above the West Sea to destroy the target.

The vice-chairman of the Party Central Military Commission said:

Important successes are being made in putting our nuclear forces on a practical basis according to the strategic plan of the Party Central Committee for steadily expanding the sphere of application of the war deterrents. It is an extension of exercising the war deterrent and an act of exercising it in a more responsible manner to continuously test the reliability of different strategic offensive means and impress their abilities upon the enemies. The head of state has already defined that the deterrent guaranteed by powerful offensive power is just the most perfect war deterrent and defence capability. We should steadily update our combat capability. In particular, it is our responsible mission and duty to ceaselessly toughen the nuclear combat posture.

On the same day he learned about the training of the sailors of the destroyers Choe Hyon and Kang Kon for operating the ships and their weapon systems and assigned relevant tasks for further raising the military and practical qualifications of the sailors. -0-

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Visits Cemetery of CPV Fallen Soldiers on Occasion of 75th Anniversary of Entry of CPV into Korean Front

                                            
                                              

Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, visited the Cemetery of the Fallen Soldiers of the Chinese People's Volunteers in Hoechang County, South Phyongan Province and paid a high tribute to them on Oct. 24 on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the entry of the CPV into the Korean front.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was accompanied by Jo Yong Won, Pak Jong Chon and Kim Tok Hun, secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK, and Choe Son Hui, foreign minister of the DPRK.

The guard of honor of the Korean People's Army lined up at the cemetery.

The national anthems of the People's Republic of China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea were played.

A flower basket in the name of Kim Jong Un and the flower baskets in the names of the Central Committee of the WPK and the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK were laid before the cemetery.

Kim Jong Un paid a silent tribute in memory of the CPV fallen soldiers.

Then, he visited the grave of Mao Anying at the cemetery.

He placed a flower before the grave and paid homage.

The faces of the CPV fallen soldiers, who assisted the revolutionary war of our people at the cost of their blood with the spirit of internationalism and the feeling of fraternal friendship, remain deep in the hearts of the peoples of the two countries as a symbol of valuable DPRK-China friendship.

Our people will never forget the blood shed by the excellent sons and daughters of the Chinese people and their immortal feats even after a lapse of many years and the shift of generations.

The DPRK-China friendship forged at the cost of blood would powerfully demonstrate its inexhaustible vitality in the sacred struggle to realize the cause of independence against imperialism, the socialist cause, in the future, too. -0-
