My guide at the time exclaimed at the top of her voice “Leader Kim Jong Il !”.
The affection of the people of the DPRK for their leaders is quite genuine, unaffected and certainly not stage-managed or directed.
I remember visiting the KPA Military Hardware Museum in September 2012 and my guide, a young lady, started crying when she saw the electric car that had been presented to Kim Jong Il but sadly he never got a chance to use it.
